I enjoyed the "rhythm" and the language of this comic piece. Lermond creates some funny characters quite quickly, and one would want to see more of their adventures moving forward. Reminded me of short comic sketches of the past (for radio, etc.) in a good way. A definite quick strike!

A lovely work. Kathryn draws you in, and you absolutely care for her and her struggles from the start. And the fact that she latches on to Hitchcock, of all people? Well, that brought a smile to this old film buff's heart. The relationship between Kathryn and Nadia is very real, and the development seems appropriate. I love that this play is not only just an affirmation of art but also an affirmation of the self. So happy that Kathryn finds her "Alma," and you leave this play hoping that her art will indeed soar. This play soars as well.

Wonderful! I really admire how Kantor builds character with structure and dialogue. Makes for an effortless read, and this never dragged. Great authenticity for the work as well… definitely captured the era well. I love all the characters, but I really loved the interaction between Lottie and Violet the best… wonderfully done there in terms of building that relationship. The “bad magician” stuff with Sully was really funny as well… what a well written heel. Definitely recommend this for production, theater folks... your audiences will love it!

There's a lot to admire about this particular piece. The rhyming prologue is a nice touch, setting the stage for what is to come. I enjoyed the otherworldliness of this... DeFrates does a nice job referencing holiday tropes and yet pulling them through a mirror darkly to give us an enjoyably weird version of what we think we know. I love some of the descriptive pieces ("Perhaps the shadows begin to sing...") that pepper the script and would be really interested to see what a production of this could make of the macabre world that is presented.

A very funny not-so-happy meal for the right sensibility, and damn right I'm that right sensibility. Busser does quite a bit in the short piece. Something that could definitely make for a further exploration, perhaps, but hey, for a late night snack, if you will, this 10-minute does the trick. Laughed at many of the exchanges, and even if you know where you're headed, the payoff at the end (with some of the darkly laugh out loud lines that occur) is great. Recommended for zombie and "zom com" play enthusiasts! I don't need fries with this order, however... thanks.

An interesting situation here set up by O'Connell. Dialogue flows well, and he gets a lot out in a short piece. The ending is ambiguous, as it should be, but the piece overall makes you think. A good little "slice of life" play that will make a lot of people wonder just what they would do if they were in this particular situation.

This is a well written play indeed. I'm a sucker for 70's-set New York pieces, so that hooked me right away, and I loved the references to the music, culture, etc. Beyond that, the characters are just engagingly written; you quickly come to care for all of them, and you definitely want to see what's going to be in store for them. And then the ending is a real gut punch, but it's an understandable ending for the story that Meyer-Jackman has created here. Going to be very excited to see how this work continues to develop!

Now this was funny! I loved the setup and the character interaction... laughed out loud at several parts including the fantastic ending, which got the biggest laugh from me. The "slow burn" here that occurs is just delightful. Gref holds a not too distorted mirror up to today's society, perhaps, and mines comedic value out of the simplest scenario. I can see why this would be a hit at 10-minute festivals. Recommended!

Engrossing, funny, touching, and disturbing... this work draws you in and takes you on a roller coaster of this particular historical period as seen through the eyes and actions of these two men. This would be incredible to see staged at some point; one can only imagine the triumph of the actors who would get to play these multitude of roles in only two characters.
