Artistic Statement

For me, the greatest joy derived from writing plays is to see and hear the audience responses to the words on the page. Whether the attendees are happy, confused, annoyed or angry makes no difference because any response is a helpful one, and might lead to making the work better. All my plays promote equity within relationships and are infused with comedy because if you can make people laugh without preaching to them there is a chance that one or more folks might re-examine their feelings and biases about others and become more human.
For almost 13 years have been creating dialogue. Have completed numerous drafts and seen five out of six plays read by Equity actors, and one work self-produced as an AEA SA production. Each time an audience has experienced the work, there has been meaningful feedback.

Most admired playwright: Edward Albee, who said the following:
All the playwright needs to succeed are a few people who care enough about themselves and the world around them and are willing to read your work.
Love doesn't die, we pass through it.
And....
Remember one thing about democracy. We can have anything we want and at the same time, we always end up with exactly what we deserve.
