Artistic Statement

My work aspires to be quirky, witty, thoughtful and heartfelt. It primarily tends towards humorous situations, relatively light and uplifting. At the same time, I still feel relatively new enough that I am often experimenting and exploring the form.

I have completed several attempts for myself to write one 10-minute play a day for an entire month. (Thanks to Chip Bolcik for the original inspiration.) The results can be surprising even for me.

Sitting down and staring at a blank piece of paper with no idea of what to write is a good chance to say, “Let’s take this baby out for a spin and see what it can do!”
