  • Function over fashion. I love a good marital conflict story over the simplest of things, especially when it hits close to home. This one did not disappoint. Jean Yeager has captured the essence of opposing perspectives and the all too familiar "yes, dear".

  • Paper towels is a full scene succinctly told in living color. This true confessions from the workplace piece really has me reflecting on a few things!

  • Laundry day, New York style. This short play was part rom-com, part mystery, part brain teaser, and fully thought provoking! It's a lighthearted, yet intense dissection of psychology between two people which is fully explored in a short window of time. Quite a marvel.

    That ending- WHAT??

Has Sam Perwin unleashed a beast with this play? I would love to read a sequel featuring more on these loveable characters and unusual storyline.

  • "Laundry Day at Mrs. Thoreau's" was a joy to read. The foundation of family support and love shines through these strong female characters as they share in the mundane and distasteful cleansing of soiled clothes. Using history and humor, Shayne Kennedy has stripped down the famous genius of Thoreau into common humanity and basic roots. This has inspired me to research the Thoreau family a bit more. Thank you for a wonderful one act! (I have a renewed appreciation for my washing machine as well).

  • This hopeful story is presented with authentic, high stakes vulnerability. The emotional risks that accompany hard conversations in life are beautifully portrayed. David Taylor Little has written a delightful piece for us hopeless romantics!

  • Kathy Rasmussen: Speed-Dating: A Day at the Races

This brought laughter with my morning coffee. Thank you for the reflection on speed dating, and the ways people try to make a great first impression. This is an outstanding and witty monologue!

  • Kathy Rasmussen: Taxes for Turtles

What do you get when you add the words taxes + fun + accounting? A satisfying comedy. In this tale, Kevin B. treats the reader to a bit of creative accounting sure to put a smile on your face and ideas of loopholes in your mind!

  • Kathy Rasmussen: The Well-Intentioned Reuben

Well Intentioned Reuben is an insightful conversation during a dark time for Simon. It showcases the power of finding joy in the simplest of things, and sends a positive message about therapy.

  • Kathy Rasmussen: Chicks With Sticks

Many surprises abound, at warp speed. Weaving in the most glorious, nostalgic language in the world throughout the story was a delight. Amy and Pam banter expertly and there is never a dull moment in this clever one act. I am
duly impressed with how Ellen Davis Sullivan merges an array of ideas into one hilarious short play.

  • Kathy Rasmussen: Next!

You've got to love the characters at the DMV. Eddie, Michael and Agnes are all interesting and unique. I don't like to play favorites, but Agnes is my hero, now! :) Ms. Stofflet puts a fun and heartwarming spin on the doldrums of standing in line! After reading NEXT! I will never look at fellow "line standers" in the same light!
