Give me more of Imogene!!! She pretty much speaks for me when it comes to all things religious!!! Such a breath of fresh air!!

One of my top 5 favorite monologues NPX and I've read many.
So real, so raw, this raging teenage girl breaks the heart and, despite her vulgarity in a holy place, she wins you over with what she says about Love and Sex and being yourself. A middle finger to institutional Religion that antagonizes and demonizes Queer youth. A dynamic role for a kickbutt actor.

Gina Femia has created an amazing character in school student Imogene. She blasts her rage and anger at full volume when speaking to God, but then opens up briefly to show her sadness and disillusionment. That rage turned to sadness finally expresses itself in pride, in pushing away shame that others try to inflict upon her. There's such truth in Femia's short play.

This is hands down one of my favorite new monologues. Femia is always pulling at my emotions and this short piece is no exception. I would love to see this done for an audition and/or published in a book of contemporary monologues for young women (that someone is hopefully working on)!

Femia’s characters have such strength and clarity and honesty, her monologue, MORE THAN THE ANIMALS, delivers all of this and more. This would make an amazing audition piece. This would be a fantastic addition to any new works festival. Read and produce this monologue!!
