This is a phenomenal play, layered with heartache, humor, and the pain of the past. Perfectly timed revelations keep you hooked the entire way. A play about sisterhood, abuse, family dynamics and ultimately love. Tremendously powerful emotional impact. Get the tissues ready. This one is absolutely brilliant. Could not recommend more highly.

This is a masterclass in writing for the stage. This is also the perfect two-hander for two ladies seeking something they can both sink their teeth into. I'm looking forward to reading more of Femia's work but I'm not looking forward the emotional mess I'll be if all of them are at this level.

The Violet Sisters is one of the best plays I've ever read. I would kill to see this on stage--and kill even more to get to act in it. The dialogue, the monologues, the reality, the horror, the humor, the overwhelming beauty, and the indescribable ugliness. Two flawed people brought together into a flawed place who quite nearly make something beautiful. This play will stay with me for a long time. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend, Femia has created something that exceeds words and goes straight into the heart.

A very well written play about a complex relationship between two strong sisters wading through grief. Beautifully written piece that tugs at heartstrings for days. We're lucky to have this play as one of our Fall Festival Finalists!!

A powerhouse piece for two women. About as perfect a two-hander as it gets.

Can't get this play out of my head! I absolutely loved the deliciously twisted blend of humor, humility, and heartbreak throughout. As an actor, it's always thrilling when you read a play and want to shout "LET ME PUT THESE WORDS IN MY MOUTH!" Pure, powerful--a must read.

Finally got to read this play, which I've been looking forward to reading based on the author's other work. Devastating in its beauty, hopeful in its ugliness, this is a perfect play for the times as two women reconnect through their demons and try to find a way to move forward. Femia has given us with this play two incredible characters to remember.

Very dynamic dialogue. The present tragedy touches the sisters memories so that much is spilled in this kitchen. I enjoyed the humor very much and believability was hard to come by, with an eight year lapse between these two, but Ms. Femia made secrets all too real.
