OFF CENTER is a beautiful, heartfelt play by Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn. I was fortunate enough to listen to this performed with Gather by the Ghostlight. Highly recommend you give this one a listen!

Having just listened to a well produced version of this play on a podcast, I strongly recommend you do the same. If you've ever pondered the merits of some art in a modern gallery and wondered if they are a masterpiece or just smatterings of paint thrown on a canvas, I know I have, then read this, as it may well make you think again. Three well thought out characters bring this art to life and its a beautiful story!

A heart-tugging story with comedic moments peppered in. Jacquelyn gives us the character Melody to help remind us all to never let our passion subside, but to be creative and do our damn art! This is a wonderfully written piece and also a great opportunity for an older actress.

OFF CENTER is beautiful. It's a show about passion, joy, and loss. It's about appreciation of what you love. It is a funny and touching conversation that unwinds into a message about following your passions while you can. Off Center is a comedy with dark undertones and wonderful characters. Melody especially is a gift to older actresses. If you went to art school this show will hit you a lot harder. It will inspire you to go and get back to creating art. I loved it.

What an exciting short play! So much to praise, such small space - but what separates OFF CENTER from other fine twisty work is Floyd-Priskorn's masterful - even Chekhovian - creation of temporal depth. We are informed it's 7 minutes before the museum closes, of Lindsay's newness on the job and later that he's come out of archive duty, that the other security guard Marco will be right back, and then there's urgency from Melody: "Quit farting around and make your damn art, before it's too late." You'll be thrown perfectly off center! This one is a new favorite!!

What a beautiful, sweet short play this is! I loved listening to Melody and Lindsay talk, and I especially loved the reveal at the end. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn has a knack for writing plays that will touch you. This one is lovely!
