JACQUELYN FLOYD-PRIKORN knows how to write sweet, touching, and meaningful plays. “Off Center” is just such a piece. A new security guard just wants to follow the rules, but we find out there can be good reasons for making an exception once in awhile. An older woman, a strange painting, and the best seat in the library are all connected. You will thoroughly enjoy reading this play and finding out what ties these things together.

A beautifully structured play that allows us to travel through the realm of artistic purpose and process! Love both the text and the subtext! Melody is a wonderful role for an older actor! Well done!

When you think you know where this delightful play is going, it changes directions. In ten short minutes it teaches us about art...what it is and who should be making it; about kindness and about remembering and about honoring people for who they are.

Off Center does what a good play should do; it entertains and teaches at the same time. And what it teaches is fundamental to what writers, painters, actors, sculptors and all other artists should do. Stop focusing on the negative (or negative space) and just create! Well done Jacquelyn.
