Poetry and music is not in short supply in this short play that uniquely explores the concepts of creativity and life and death. Langman proves very skilled at balancing the large idea absurdism as well as the intimate moments of these two characters.

A really compelling dissection of the minstrel show trope that looks at race issues both in and out of the theatre world.

No matter how much we want to shelter them, children are going to deal with trauma in their lives and we need to have places where they can be talked about honestly. Rosenberg has crafted such a nuanced play that tackles mental health among pre-teens head on and is both comedic and tragic. These issues are not going to go away and it's only the kids who are going to get hurt because of our silence so please produce art like this that opens the doors to communication.

The themes in this play are themes that have been a part of theatre since the Greeks. Themes like family, resentment, destiny, fear and hope. Amy Berryman has beautifully created a future our world is heading towards as the backdrop for this story. It's the best kind of science fiction. The kind that presents massive ideas and scenarios our current minds can't exactly comprehend but what we can comprehend is the intimate drama between these 3 multi-faceted characters. The final scene is breathtaking and left me with a multitude of emotions. Can't wait to see this play fully produced.

This play is terrifying, hilarious and heartbreaking. I love the way Minnicino explores the responsibility of power and the concept of fate in this play. Fantastic piece for female actors.

I truly adored this play!!! Femia has such a skill with slice of life moments in people's lives and exploring the way relationships evolve. By the end of this play we don't need to know what happened to these two friends or how they saw each other. Femia perfectly creates a magical moment that will forever connect them for the rest of their lives. Also, please write more plays for older women to play younger women!!!

This play expertly deconstructs the tropes of female friendships in media while also exploring the lengths people will go to not die alone. These characters are on the surface one-dimensional and they might even define themselves as such but there is so much to them and they all surprise and grow throughout the play. Themes like domestic violence and disability is looked at here in such a unique way.

  • Shaun Leisher: LEAVE THE BALCONY OPEN

I went to a big party school where the deaths of young people occurred much too frequently. I longed for a play that addressed the questions that are posed in this play. Who is left to remember the lives lost when the next party comes and so many forget? Why do we honor the dead with destructive habits? What happens when those that are supposed to protect us can’t? This play brilliantly shows what it’s like when the world of college allows students to keep being while forcing them to be adults too fast.

A really good play about the way women bond over grief. The writer does a really good job at keeping the play focused and making every member of the ensemble such a defined character. So refreshing to see a play for women of all shapes, ages and ethnicities.

A true example of it's funny because it's true. Macdonald is so good here at satirizing toxic men while also finding hearts within them. This is a play that will leave audiences uncomfortable and hopefully inspired to change.
