Wow! Produce. This. Play. Now. It's smart and timely and simple and clean.

Intense, intimate, and truthful to the bone. I wish more plays would tackle this subject matter and promote not only knowing your status but getting tested regularly. Great job, Donna!

It's always hard as a child to see past the image you have of your parents as these tyrannical figures that have been old and ancient for as long as you can remember. Rachael Carnes not only shows us this but forces us to swallow the pill that they were like us once too. And their fears and seemingly dictatorial actions are grounded. PERMISSION is a beautiful piece of theatre and I hope it continues to be produced because Ms. Carnes has something very special here.
  • WACKY JACKIE AND AUNT EVANGELINE: A ONE-ACT PLAY
    31 Jan. 2019
Life tends to be full of awful people and Asher Wyndham has put two incredibly awful people onstage in this gut-punch of a play. Great roles for two women that are unlike the typical ingenues and mother figures that fill most plays.

God this play! It doesn't matter how many times I consume media about the impact of AIDS, it always hits hard. Paul Donnelly does something different here. It's very easy for these kinds of plays to get weighted down in depression and morality; while there are the hints of those in FAMILY VISITATION, Donnelly never lets it get in the way of the dramatic action onstage. His characters are fully-fleshed and engaged and it's a heartbreaking treat to see how it all plays out. #PlaywrightPlug

Another wacky, weird, and wonderful short by Rachael Carnes. There's such satisfying energy just buzzing between her characters and the idea of buying pubic lice when you don't have enough money for rent just so you can get back at the ex who scorned you is deliciously fun! #PlaywrightPlug
  • This Play Has an Iguana for a Protagonist
    28 Jan. 2019
The balance between screwball comedy, intelligent comedy, and theatre as teaching is tough to strike and exceedingly difficult to maintain. THIS PLAY HAS AN IGUANA FOR A PROTAGONIST finds that balance from the get-go and shines on every front. Liz Dooley's characters are fun, varied, and perfectly tuned for comedy. Any production team would have a blast bringing this world to life on any budget level. Saying I highly recommend this play is a bit of an understatement. Read this play. Produce this play. Get this play out there. Everyone needs to know about it yesterday.
  • The Chocolate Affair

Tragically funny, THE CHOCOLATE AFFAIR is heart wrenching yet fun. Stephanie Alison Walker has created a fabulous short piece filled with so much vulnerability that I am dying to see it staged. There’s also something so delightful about seeing candy anthropomorphized! #PlaywrightPlug
  • Peas in the Fried Rice

Larry Rinkel employs repetition masterfully in PEAS IN THE FRIED RICE. There is such a nice clip to the argument between his characters and their repeated complaints that feels incredibly true to life. #PlaywrightPlug
  • Greater Good
    27 Dec. 2018
Sweet and uplifting, GREATER GOOD gives us a short look at a particularly difficult moment in any young couples’ lives. Donna Hoke masterfully balances the stakes at hand with the needs and aspirations of her characters. The wisecracking homeless woman adds some much-needed brevity that creates a fun theatrical experience. Would love to see it staged! #PlaywrightPlug
