Oh my goodness! What can I say about this work...I had the pleasure of reading for Timothy, and it took every ounce of control not to fall apart. The story is bold, dark, and heartbreaking. Many in this world have, unfortunately, have attested to the brutality and cruelty of a person such as Douglas. Timothy's revenge is calculated with timely effect. Bravo Don!!

Oh wow! This is such a poignant piece. So relevant to the world of today, unfortunately.
Benton brings the subject to the forefront in a real human way, even with the puppets. Not everyone can connect to other humans and face their own grief and pain. He made me cry, which is a good thing.

What a heart wrenching show. The dynamic dialogue at once makes you laugh, then twists your emotions into a heap of knots. Brilliantly written, thank you!

Brilliant! I loved this so much. At only 13 pages, I wanted more. What a turn of events. A must read. I would love to see this on a stage!

I had the wonderful opportunity to direct Cyrano On the Moon in the 2020 Femme Fatale Play Festival. The story and characters is multifaceted and thoroughly engaging. I highly recommend.

Phillip gives us a humorous and believable look into real life. The parents were honest and real, though lost. I say lost because of the notion of “what would the world think” attitudes. I say real, because I’ve heard this conversation in my own family, unfortunately, the conversation didn’t change anything. But, here, in What Way to the Beach, I believe there is a small inkling of change.

What a great feel good story! I was emotionally, completely drawn into the story. The characters are believable, even those who are “made up”.

What a fascinating story, with a great moral. I see hints of Brave and Aesop’s Fables. Who doesn’t love a good magical story…and we have one here.

What a trip! DC takes you on a ride, you never thought you would enjoy. I loved the non-linear writing. The dialogue - impressive!. This piece pulled me, emotionally, in so many directions. So dark - so good!
  • The Fierce Urgency Of Now

This is a stellar piece of writing! I was engaged the entire time. Strong character arcs. I made me laugh and cringe at the right moments. Kate, though I wanted to hate her, and I did for a moment, but revenge is best served with paint.
    Love it!
