  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: 70.3

Funny, sweet, and poignant, this play lets you experience a runner's high from your seat in the theatre. I had the pleasure of watching a reading of 70.3 as part of the Parity Productions Commission and would love to see it fully produced.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: Good Heavens!

GOOD HEAVENS! examines the tension between two historical figures fighting for the legacy of their beliefs. This play manages historical accuracy without sacrificing entertainment, making sure to have a healthy dose of comedy throughout. This would be an excellent play for any theatre interested in an entertaining new work with an educational bent. I hope to see a production of it soon!

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: Spin

SPIN weaves a theatrical tapestry of interconnected characters over the course of their lifetimes (and sometimes beyond). This play makes me belly laugh out loud, shed silent tears, and think about our place in the universe. I genuinely can't wait to see a production of this play.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: AFFINITY LUNCH MINUTES

I had the pleasure of seeing a virtual reading of AFFINITY LUNCH MINUTES as part of Orlando Shakes Playfest. This play made me laugh, made me think, and made me feel for the characters. In a time when it’s so easy to be divisive and force sides, this play is a nuanced look at the implicit biases and injustices at a predominantly white Quaker school. I genuinely hope to see a full production of this play soon!

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: The Problem With Magic, Is:

I feel like I've been reading a lot of plays lately about dying businesses in gentrified areas, but what makes this play special are the characters the writer's manipulation of time and space. Lloyd manages to tell what might seem like a familiar story through a unique and entirely theatrical lens. And the ending of this play is that perfect mix of surprising and inevitable. It is my ardent wish that this play receives a full production as soon as possible! I want to be the first in line to buy tickets.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: SUPPOSED HOME

I have loved SUPPOSED HOME from the moment I first read it and my adoration for it only grew when I saw the virtual stage reading at the 2021 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. The legacy of Japanese Concentration Camps is pervasive to this day and Hamashima manages to tell a powerful and personal story about this time through a wholly theatrical lens. This play will make you laugh and cry and demands to be told on stage in front of a live audience as soon as possible.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: Tiger Beat

TIGER BEAT is as much a wonderful nostalgic romp through the early 2000's as it is a searing critique of the way that we continue to create art to this day. Hearing this play read aloud I laughed, I cried, and I dare anyone to not get the very catchy song, "Girls Next Door", stuck in their head. This is a masterful work of art and I sincerely hope it receives productions across the country.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: All My Mothers Dream in Spanish: A Play with Drums

I couldn't help but fall absolutely in love with these characters and the rich dreamlike landscape that they inhabit in this script. This play is filled with theatricality and demands to be seen on stage. I hope to see a full production of this play as soon as possible.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: HOMERIDAE

I absolutely loved HOMERIDAE. The script deftly combines ancient classical literature, modern-day technology, and contemporary collegiate dialogue. Espinoza is dealing with hot-button issues like the pervasiveness of white supremacy in higher education and manages to tackle it with such care, nuance, and deep love for her characters, which are all BIPOC. I would absolutely love to see a full production of this play.

  • Jordan Ramirez Puckett: 28 Light Years From Now

I had the pleasure of seeing a virtual reading of 28 Light Years From Now. I enjoyed watching this sweeping intergenerational love story and especially appreciated that it features an all female cast. Whether they are the one to go off to war or are the one being left behind, all of these characters are written with a beautiful inner strength, which made me reflect on the powerful women in my own life.
