  • Lee R. Lawing: Blue Christmas

So many of us forget that what is supposed to be the most joyous time of the year can be the worse for so, so many. Blue Christmas brings that out front and center and for any one who's ever been that down to pick up the phone to make that call, this play shows us the true spirit of what Christmas should be, blue or not.

  • Lee R. Lawing: MARCH!

This was my play of the day and I'm so glad it was. Sadly after reading this piece, it seems that we have not made any progress from where we were during that time although we have, but we still want to allow so many compromise so as not to offend the delicate masses that still seem to hold so much power. Gay rights, Transgender rights, women rights. A right is a right and it's for everyone. We will continue to ask to march shoulder to shoulder with every one around until we achieve a seat at the table.

  • Lee R. Lawing: STEPHEN THE SCROOGE: A CHRISTMAS MONOLOGUE

Oh the pains and headaches that Stephen feels about gift wrapping. If anything can put one in a Scrooge-ish mood it’s that. But Stephen has more than that going on—trying to teach his girls the real meaning of the holiday while family members ignore his wishes and he’s doing this as a single parent where memories of Christmas’s past can be ones that are hard to deal with all the while putting on that smile for the children for himself and others around him when sometimes you just want a drink and to take a breath

  • Lee R. Lawing: Sandy's Gift

Twisty and twisted, two of my favorite things for the holiday. You start down a road and then turn off on one that you didn't see the warning sign posted before you entered. An office comedy with that would definitely be fun to act in and also see.

  • Lee R. Lawing: A FACE ON THE PIG (a 10 minute play)

The say the heart is a very tender organ when it comes to love and it is, but it's always miraculous to me how strong that organ becomes when it has a reason to pump and sometimes that may be to getting revenge on the a-holes in the world.

  • Lee R. Lawing: After It Stopped (Monologue)

Wow! A gut-wrenching and oh so powerful monologue about something that none of us should have to face and the consequences of that crime and violence that most would never be able to shake completely as is evident by Timothy.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Human Resources

This play completely completely caught me off guard while as I was reading it which for me was very pleasant indeed. To get thrown a curve in a play is something we all work for a Cole achieves that with this gem. My son is applying for colleges this year and the entire helicopter parent thing is something that would be so easy to fall into. Human Resources will make you smile and feel that the world can be a better place even if you are loosing a part of you that you felt you never would, or could.

  • Lee R. Lawing: A Gun or a Paycheck

relationships are hard that's a given and in that given is a very core truth about the magnitude of what a good relationship is, be it two people who are just right for each other and those who find out down that hard road of existence that they are not. Cathro gives us a gut-wrenching journey of one such relationship that has you laughing at first and then that sucker punch at the end where you know Ronnie and Arron's happy has turned into unhappiness and a different ending is just around the corner for both.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Steps (short play)

Risk can be one of the most attractive things about sexual interaction. That feeling that you're doing something not so right or not so right where you're doing it. One of the most subtle pieces I've read about this topic. Well done.
