  • Lee R. Lawing: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

This is a funny play and would bring a lot of joy on stage for sure. We can run most everything but death and our inner demons. The Unfinished Novel is a great bit as is the entire play. Funny from start to finish.

  • Lee R. Lawing: METONYM OR THE ALMOST COMPLETELY FALSE STORY BEHIND THE CREATION OF ROGET'S THESAURUS

Whimsical, playful, offbeat and unconventional!! In a word, perfect, thorough, flawless and ideal!

  • Lee R. Lawing: Nightclub

What would the world look like if homosexuality hadn't been demonized by all world religions where if one of these children of whichever god might be the father, could have just loved who they wanted to love without the threat that they were doing something so wrong and hating themselves so much because they were taught to hate their true selves along with everybody else in their religion---Gershman's play speaks from the heart of how something so innocent like love has been turned into something truly demonic by so many that ones like O will never find heaven.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Beast

Beast is a hoot from start to finish. This has made me fall in love with the tale all over again. I love the humor and laugh-out-loud lines that Feriend has. It makes you think a little more about the being kind to those who ask for our kindness on a day to day basis even if deep down you may think they are asking for a whole lot more. This would make a great addition at any ten-minute festival!

  • Lee R. Lawing: COMPLIMENTARY WIFI

There's nothing like a vacation to bring anyone together or push them apart or do both at the same time. Add in kids and you can really bring on a flood of emotions. Carnes is always funny and always deep and I love that about her writing more than anything, something so familiar and yet ever lasting, just like a religion! Sign me up for hers. I've been looking for a new one!

  • Lee R. Lawing: Spilled Tea

As much as we love our family and they love us, those decisions which take us away from them are so hard to actually make and stick to. Lee's exploration is a small gem of family dynamics which are heightened in that family intensity with Megan and Mara being not only sisters but twins and it's eerie in its own way but hits so close to home as all of us feel at some point that we wish we could be two people, the one who could fly away and the other who cleans up the tea after being spilled.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Crescent Moon Circus

Creepy with a sense of urgency that squeezes the breath out of you. Weeks gives us what seems to be a nightmare for Mins, but this nightmare ends with a welcoming tug at your heart which makes you smile to think what you witnessed was a coming home for our character and nothing as troublesome as we first believed.

  • Lee R. Lawing: A Guided Meditation (a brief audio monologue)

I swear by mediation and do it every night before bed, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate this funny play about one guided session and quite frankly this is about what I experience every night. I used to think you had to shut everything out to be doing it "right" but I've learned to welcome all the clutter and noise that comes my way. I think I will try Carbajl's gem tonight!

  • Lee R. Lawing: A DIANE ARBUS CHRISTMAS

This is one of the funniest plays I've read and I would like this to be filmed and be on my "Must watch" Halloween and Christmas shows every year as it would fit into both worlds very nicely.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Cleaning Gravestones

Saw this wonderful play read live on the Reading Theater Project and the playwright interviewed afterwards. We all have our way of dealing with grief and loss and this mom's actions seem like something that would be so calming and make you find a little more understanding about the brevity of this life and appreciation for those who came before you in death. The daughter's non-sentimentality struck a personal chord with me especially with the death and the rituals surround it for a non-Christian human.
