  • Lee R. Lawing: Danforth Street, January 6

We all watched in horror on that January 6th day with horror and with disbelief, as if living in a pandemic wasn't unreal enough, we have the leader of our country committing treason and not even being charged for it, so this evil has split out country into two halves, the insane and those who stare with mouths agape as our democracy is dismantled. Minigan put our feelings into his wonderful ten minute audio play Danforth Street, January 6. A day that lives forever but for all the wrong reasons.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Chem Class

What a touching and beautiful play about being true to oneself and at 17 that is probably the hardest thing to do for a lot of teenagers and adding in something that's not "common" among the rest of the class, makes it even harder. I wish for one day when religion won't pent people so into what's right and what's wrong and the world will just realize that this and that are just things that are accepted. Think of the type of world that could be if focused on those things that really mattered.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Muddy Sneakers

What seems like just another run by friends, McClain takes us into a detour of power struggles, truth vs. lies, and out and blackmail just to get one's way. Stella and Alex are typical teens and they are done so well that it's a heartbreaking come to Jesus between to people who thought they were friends only to realize that this was an illusion, Muddy Sneakers today, Business shoes tomorrow. Life continues on.

  • Lee R. Lawing: The Active Oval

It is said that nothing is random and that every choice has a purpose and meaning. Mabey's play show's one of these moments with Lex and Sammy, both having gone out of their apartments at the same time, both choosing to come to the park at the same time, or nearly so. We are strangers to most people in this world. Isn't it nice to see two meet, talk and become friends at just the right moment when it's needed.

  • Lee R. Lawing: URBAN MAGIC

I know that feeling of being uprooted from the country to the city, but it was my choice so there was homesickness but also I had chosen to come out west to Seattle. I never faced being uprooted by my parents into a strange new world, and if you're used to the country the city can be overwhelming but like the country, Latham shows us the joys and magic that is there with her short play. I'm ready to take a walk with a fresh perspective, to be on the lookout for those surprises around every corner.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Into the Dark

Wow! What a great play filled with so many twists that it leaves you unsure of what's happening at first and you feel so much anxiety for Elanor who is out walking her dog. There are so many who fall in love and start to become like the other and morph into their ideology and way of thinking. Lamedman shows us what happens when that person sees the horror of what could happen if she stays with such a man. Into the Dark gave me goosebumps about monsters in the dark and those standing in plain sight.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Going for a Walk with Sam

A tear jerker for sure and what a beautiful ode to all the lost loves in our lives. There are so many we would want to take that walk again with and Philip gives us a true gem. What a nice dream and what a T-R-E-A-T this play is.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Canseco's Cryptid Crew

Baughfman's play is one trippy experience. Funny throughout with a twist that puts your trip into overdrive wanting more.

  • Lee R. Lawing: WAR BABIES

Beautiful play about the possibility of discovery and what that discovery might mean. Countless siblings that don't even know they are connected and this play by Puccioni brings one of those stories to life for us so tenderly and realistically you will be wanting to join in with your own bowl of ice cream.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Picnic on Squire Cheyney Farm Park

This play means a lot to me on a personal level. My son is nearly 16 and I feel every day these changes that are taking him into manhood. Zaffarano’s walking play is so well done with showing a teen trying to become more of a man and his mom fighting it just a little. There is sadness but hope with this play as they move past their differences and toward a moment of peace and plans to help heal their loss and pain.
