Saw this great play read on Back Porch Theater by two of the actors who originated the roles. Great play full of layers and one that will always shine no matter how many times you see/hear or read it.

How could I not read this play with such a delightful title. The play holds up to it and then more. I've admired both writer's work on NPX and know they would make a delightful couple if they ever decided to tie the knot. I'd try to be one of the first in line for the wedding, but know with both of their fans, would end up standing in the back of the chapel. I'd try to make up for that by getting the best damn paper product for the first year wedding anniversary.

Martin says so much in this one-minute play. You think it's going to be about one thing and then it turns out to be about so many things which for me is a true value of any piece of literature. It's sad that as people we have to take lessons on how to be human, but that's the beauty of Martin's play and if we just take the time to exhale, we might find true redemption.

At first, this play seems like a cute vampire take on the one night stand scenario, but by the end, there was a lot more than just that simple turn and my heart went out to Kurt who has basically experienced a very traumatic encounter with a man who takes advantage of him without his permission and vampires don't seem all that romantic anymore when viewed through Deray's wonderful words.

Sickles' work always impresses me and this monologue is no different. Such emotion from Benton, a man in love who takes us on a complete journey as he stands beneath the stars.
