  • Lee R. Lawing: A Walkable Feast

This play is rich in rewards for the reader and audience who would see it. Wang's walking play gives us a bounty of delights that are very digestible once finished and you hope their walk will go on and on and on.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Scavengers (Ten Minute Play)

When the girl and boy enter I found myself yourself holding my breath and hoping that the play doesn't take a turn I wasn't prepared for. The message at the end is one that is good for us all to hear and realize. I love that last few lines and being scavengers for love.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Apoc-eclipse

Sin is just so tricky because how can anyone ever be that pure? Especially pure enough to be chosen to ascend and take a spot at the Celestial table. Novak has written a funny one-act and that left me with a shock of surprise on my face at the end. Well done!

  • Lee R. Lawing: MY PRONOUNS

Achingly beautiful and powerful. This monologue is pure poetry and is driven by such raw emotion that you can only empathize with the actor and put your own so called flaws in their place. Your so called damage and you become aware that there are so many of us out there who thought of ourselves as not right in our skin and the beauty of this monologue is that it brings those damages to the forefront and allows us all the just breath for once in our lives.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Mother

A perfect read for Mother's Day and any day of the week. The delightful ending made me smile and laugh and the entire play made me feel a rush of giddiness for mothers everywhere. Thanks for this very special play!

  • Lee R. Lawing: To The Moon!

Conquering your fears is always a great thing. Conquering your fears due to lying not so much, especially when the lying may land you into a place you'd just rather not be. To The Moon! gives us a look at Joe's descent to the moon to be the first civilian to walk on the moon and his unhappiness being in this situation. is the reason to read this play and discover why.

A tribute to passion and coming to better understand the people around you who are different yes but still may hold truths that need to be heard and processed.

  • Lee R. Lawing: The Year the Padres Won the Pennant

Saw an audio production of this play last night as part of the Crafton Hills College New Play Festival. It brought back a lot of memories for me as my Dad was a Cubs fan. Weintraub plays off the intimacy of a personal relationship with that of a team and a person's love for a team and the collapse of both is is very poignant and heartbreaking to witness.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Bottle Episode

Some same fire, others say ice. This is a beautiful ode to life and extinction and choosing the best friends possible that have your back and every other part of you when the end does arrive in whatever form it takes.

What a great one-minute play. A party game turned into the perfect set-up with just the right conclusion. Spot on!
