  • URBAN MAGIC
    7 Apr. 2021
I know that feeling of being uprooted from the country to the city, but it was my choice so there was homesickness but also I had chosen to come out west to Seattle. I never faced being uprooted by my parents into a strange new world, and if you're used to the country the city can be overwhelming but like the country, Latham shows us the joys and magic that is there with her short play. I'm ready to take a walk with a fresh perspective, to be on the lookout for those surprises around every corner.
  • Into the Dark

Wow! What a great play filled with so many twists that it leaves you unsure of what's happening at first and you feel so much anxiety for Elanor who is out walking her dog. There are so many who fall in love and start to become like the other and morph into their ideology and way of thinking. Lamedman shows us what happens when that person sees the horror of what could happen if she stays with such a man. Into the Dark gave me goosebumps about monsters in the dark and those standing in plain sight.
  • Going for a Walk with Sam

A tear jerker for sure and what a beautiful ode to all the lost loves in our lives. There are so many we would want to take that walk again with and Philip gives us a true gem. What a nice dream and what a T-R-E-A-T this play is.
  • Canseco's Cryptid Crew

Baughfman's play is one trippy experience. Funny throughout with a twist that puts your trip into overdrive wanting more.
  • WAR BABIES

Beautiful play about the possibility of discovery and what that discovery might mean. Countless siblings that don't even know they are connected and this play by Puccioni brings one of those stories to life for us so tenderly and realistically you will be wanting to join in with your own bowl of ice cream.
  • Picnic on Squire Cheyney Farm Park

This play means a lot to me on a personal level. My son is nearly 16 and I feel every day these changes that are taking him into manhood. Zaffarano’s walking play is so well done with showing a teen trying to become more of a man and his mom fighting it just a little. There is sadness but hope with this play as they move past their differences and toward a moment of peace and plans to help heal their loss and pain.
  • CHARLOTTE'S LETTERS
    5 Apr. 2021
Letters are so initiate and bring about such different emotions while holding them in hand. This is no different then O'Grady's play Charlotte's Letters. I love O'Grady's taking off some of the mystery to Charlotte Bronte as we sit and watch Elizabeth Gaskell's and her daughter piece together the life of someone so shy, but who like so many of us lived out life fully, and if not as she wanted entirely, because who knows what would happen to Charlotte in today's world, but who lived her life with such an eye on the world around her.
  • Razing Plains: An Ozarker Allegory
    5 Apr. 2021
An achingly beautiful ode to sadness, hurt and pain caused by the unjust and evil that men can do and still do. Duggins brings this play to life with poetry and with song and with tales as old as time itself and she weaves her voice into a rich tapestry that casts it spell over the reader. This is one of those plays that would be great to see live because of the staging, the music and the words of a gifted playwright.
  • Pam and Steve Go to the Show
    5 Apr. 2021
First time I ever went to New York, everyone from my little home town in Pickens, South Carolina said, watch for muggers and thieves because everyone there is out to get you. My experience was a little like Pam's and I love Corley's walking play because you see a definite rebirth of character and an entire world opening up before her eyes and poor Steve may not be getting the same Pammy when they return because sometimes a vacation can be a life-altering experience.
  • Unlocked (Part of the Walking Plays Anthology 2021)
    5 Apr. 2021
A great take on the paranoia of a cheating partner. Cooper's Unlocked puts you in a frantic seek and hide mission with its character and you start to feel breathless from the movement. It's a fast-paced, action-packed audio play that tears your emotions a zillion ways before letting them go.
