  • Comfort Zone
    22 Dec. 2018
A touching play about two unlikely roommates who make a connection by stepping outside of their comfort zone. It's impossible not to root for these characters—two people who have walled themselves in as a result of personal tragedy, but somehow find the strength to help each other get past their pain, and move on to more hopeful futures. Kaplan gives us a realistic, yet inspiring drama about surviving loss.

What an amazing play. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it for the powerful plot, and the sharp and satirical dialogue. But this lively two hander is just so much more than a play about a married couple as they move through life. Sure this play is about love, but it's also about politics, including gender dysphoria, climate change, abortion—you name it, this playwright has found a way to make it part of the story of this couple's journey together. A play for two actors that encompasses the world. Well done, Emma Goldman-Sherman!
  • RENATA: A POST-MATERNITY MONOLOGUE
    16 Dec. 2018
Brilliant piece about a "take no prisoners" employee who is rightly steamed when she finds she is being shunted into obscurity after returning from maternity leave. Renata is one of those unforgettable characters whom you root for from line one—and it's so satisfying to see her get her revenge on her sneaky boss. Go, Renata, and go Asher Wyndham for such a wonderful monologue!
  • Edmund Fitzwater Doesn’t Have Any Answers for You
    15 Dec. 2018
A nicely creepy 10 minute play that sets up a great situation involving three friends and a phone app that claims to know the future. Loved the sharp and witty writing, and the carefully crafted suspense had me on the edge of my seat. Bohannon will keep the audience guessing!
  • Help! I'm Trapped in a Monologue Written by Matthew Weaver!
    1 Dec. 2018
Brilliantly conceived monologue that goes to town on every playwright's secret terrors. I laughed out loud and winced in self-recognition in about equal measure, all the while thinking what fun the actors will have with this play!

Delightful. Audiences won't be able to resist such a charmingly determined Santa who displays such remarkable skill in both gift giving and arm twisting to land the job of her dreams. Congratulations to Patrick Gabridge who has earned his milk and cookies with this sparkling seasonal gem.

A beautiful, beautiful play about a young girl's search for her dead father, helped by her agoraphobic aunt, a long dead Arctic explorer, and the ever present stars. Claudia Haas knows how to take the small, ordinary space of a New York apartment and turn it into something as vast as an unexplored universe. Perfect for young audiences, but really, for audiences of any age.
  • EVERYBODY HATES MARIAH CAREY

Carnes is note perfect in this darkly comic two-hander where the Christmas that went wrong doesn't even begin to describe the horrors awaiting the characters as they contemplate the past. Even Santa will be "ho-ho-ho-ing" at this one. Recommended!
  • Three Triple Six Four Oh Five Three

Heartbreaking. In a small, literally confined space, Gonzalez creates a classic conflict that absolutely rings true. We know the barest details about these characters, but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that we get to see the love, and hear the struggle and heartbreak in Gonzalez' words. This is an age old story about one man's attempts to prevent the other from making the mistakes he made—told in a fresh and contemporary way. A clarion call to all of us to change the system if we can.
  • THE ONE ABOUT THE HAMSTER (co-written with Hugh Brinkley)
    28 Oct. 2018
This delightful play is non-stop action as Candice the hamster goes on the lam and throws her human into existential crisis. Total delight for the audience (who are roped into the fun) and two extremely athletic actors. Carnes and Brinkley go where no playwrights (and a hamster) have gone before. Highly recommended!
