Poetry is weaved into this story and my eyes were glued to the page at every turn. Latham is a wordsmith. Each character gets a moment to shine and some will not just pull at your heartstrings, but yank until your heart is interlaced with the story. The piece offers brilliant roles for actors of color and women, along with providing a director with lots of room on how to present the tale. Truly amazing. Please someone produce this piece, I would drive all the way to Memphis itself to see this piece.

There are not enough roles for our seasoned actors that really give them something to get excited about. Ruyle's piece doesn't have this issue. In fact, this play masterfully explores the themes of romance, aging, and other incredible real struggles while never holding back on the wit! I can think of so many theatres where this is exactly the type of show they are searching for. It deserves to see the light of production!

A truly phenomenal piece that takes the premise of BLM and does what only the truly great shows do: think! It's a conversation starter and, while gut-wrenching at times, is a truly accessible and real way to attack and explanation of what the movement stands for and why it is needed.

A delightfully funny show with a twist that is sure to leave any audience laughing. It is equal parts ridiculous and possible. A great addition to any festival!

I've been blessed to be part of this piece's development and Schlomann truly hits the jackpot with this one! It's a hilarious concept brought home by impeccable dialog that leaves the audience's side weak from laughter, but our hearts get a sneak attack that elevates this piece to the next level. A delightful piece that would be perfect for any stage!

I had the pleasure of seeing this show at the Phoenix Theatre and it was truly remarkable. The concept of the 'magic wine' truly allowed for quick escalation of laughs and drama. You catch these characters at these incredible cross roads in their lives, some of them not even knowing they were there. Often they are their own worst enemies and communication breakdowns always lead to dynamic climaxes. A great show and the production I saw was masterfully done. Highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of seeing this fantastic and engaging show at the Fonseca Theatre. This show has some twists and turns, that I didn't see coming. Horror has always been a favorite genre of mine, but it is rarely done well. This is not the case with Gomolvilas piece. The production I saw was spectacular, but the story is what lingers in my head. Not only would it be a great piece for the Halloween season, but it's wit, comedy, and dynamic characters make this perfect for any stage and any time. I would love to see this again!

I had the pleasure of seeing this production and it is wildly, outrageously hilarious, and yet so full of truth. It's clever in a fresh and quick-witted way and deserves to see the stage dozens if not hundreds more times. It is incredibly engaging as an audience member and even though I saw it about 3 years ago and I still think out that production at the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis. This show truly needs to be seen by more people, and it will fill seats!

This is truly an amazingly powerful script. I had the blessing of being in a production of this show as an actress and it made me laugh and ripped me into little pieces every single night. This is one of those scripts that stays with you long after the lights go dark. It is impactful, relevant, and does a phenomenal job capturing the current state of affairs and struggles, especially in young black men. If you get the chance to see this, it is a MUST. Just...wow.

The dark wit that DeVita uses shocks the reader out of their sweet comfort of what comes as a love story at first glance. This piece takes tons of turns and keeps you guessing while willfully engaged. I worry about writing too much and spoiling some of the fun DeVita has in store. A great read for when you want to indulge in some laugher!
