Excellent, excellent wry humor with great use of double casting. Powerful ending and message against rape culture.
  • The Bee's Knees

I love that two literal bee's knees are characters in this script and that Weaver asks the production to lean into the awkwardness and the wonderful weirdness this idea invites. Fun!

These characters bring me back to middle school and, at the same time, are highly relatable to me as an adult. I feel the fatigue, the humor, the wanting to learn, the wanting to get out and the pain and joy brought on by other people. This script is hugely successful in it's chosen medium of Zoom.

Bublitz crafts an impeccable, crucial structure to tell this story. The use of the dress is outstanding - it tells us about time and so much about character. A truly thought-provoking piece on consent and rape culture, people should see it.
  • Dance and Crawl and Sing and Fall (formerly Tales from Tent City)

The description of remembering how high school friends feel like family hooked me in. This script delivered and gave so much more. It slices in and gives us a close look with such compassion. The songs have great lyrics that tie down moments and then transition beautifully. Great work!

Transporting. The language packs so much emotion and energy. It captures what it's like to be a kid in a dying town and to think what is the past and what is the future?

Well done! Such immediacy. I could see and smell that pie even though I was only reading it. The pie is the perfect frame for this heart wrenching, complex story.

The use of the chorus in this script is extremely effective. The repetition and reversals in language add a sense of heighten theatricality. The piece moves beautifully like a score. It is a world created to dwell in and ponder questions of gender, roles and names.
