  • Samantha Marchant: Curse of the Puerto Ricans

The writing has such beautiful intimacy, that we really get to know and feel for the characters and this family. The script raises questions about family, responsibility and when is it time to go. The dialogue moves and takes you to a wonderful, wordless ending. A great read, I’d love to see it on stage!

  • Samantha Marchant: Red Alien

I had the pleasure of attending a reading of Red Alien and it has stuck with me ever since. Great fun for three actresses to play many awesome roles. Has lots to chew on. The value of workers. Value of women. Questioning authority - executives, government, religion. The job of procreation. Blind faith. Being special/chosen. Consent. Waiting. Miscommunication. There are so many beautifully strange moments like the movement language to static. I so want to see the delicious weirdness of the pop ritual, at the end, come to life. Spectacular!

  • Samantha Marchant: The Mighty Maisie

Maisie is a great character. Smart. Fiercely protective of friends (old and new) and her pristine spot in the trailer park. And now she has unearthly powers. Poynton's script digs in with clever dialogue and stage directions that invite stunning designs. It all builds up to a spectacular ending.

  • Samantha Marchant: Boycott Esther

Fresh and timely. Exciting to imagine the different ways the script can be realized. Thought provoking and a great ending.

  • Samantha Marchant: Aloha Apocalypse (Ten Minute Play)

Makes you feel the tension, the love, and the truth of a very surreal situation. A captivating script that askes "what would you do?"

  • Samantha Marchant: Safe Space

A big mix of wonderful that easily flows. The 'clue' endings are a so so satisfying conclusion to a completely engaging script. "Flames."
