  • Christopher Soucy: Sudden, Unfortunate, and Unexpected Tendencies

Not all fortune tellers tell fortunes. Some listen, some help, some may even tell you the truth. The wily Madame T lets her guard down for a customer who feels he has nowhere else to go. Collette Murphy gives us characters exhibiting unpredictable layers in a short piece that packs a punch. I would love to see this onstage.

Is there anything more mortifying than cool parents? Dominica Plummer gives us a solid representation of the angst that fuels a death metal band, or it would if they ever got the chance. A fun collection of hardcore, and not so hardcore, characters on a path of self destruction, self awareness, and maybe just a little self delusion. A fun play inspired by a peculiar title! Brava!

  • Christopher Soucy: A Gun or a Paycheck

DC Cathro gives us a peek inside a couple’s private war. This is a masterful bit of writing that reveals an entire iceberg by showing us the tip. This look behind closed doors feels frightfully authentic.

  • Christopher Soucy: I'm Gonna Need You to Log off for Me

Hot off the presses, do we still print stuff? In any case, this is a perfect comedy shines a harsh light on the trials and tribulations of modern artists and creators locked in a battle to preserve their creative identity. A thoroughly enjoyable short play.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Angel

This would be at home in Ray Bradbury anthology! Superb intrigue and suspense in this tight two hander. Robert LeBlanc gives us a satisfying tale of misdeeds and trust issues.

A testimony to the beauty and power of teachers. Their role is so significant and often underestimated. I cannot imagine a more noble profession.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Ballad of Leslie

So much fun! A clever slice-of-life short that is definitely cut from a fantastic place. Funny throughout, Lisa Feriend gives us a tale of a disappointed vacationer and a downsized chorus.

  • Christopher Soucy: Greasemonkey

I’ve come to deeply admire Miranda Jonte’s ability to deliver something simultaneously raw and refined. There is a natural feel to the dialogue and characters with a heighten and sublime poetic pulse beneath it all. This is a story of want and denial, falling and landing, running and staying, poetry and motor oil. Great stuff through and through.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Cask of Amontillado, adapted from Edgar Allan Poe's short story of the same name

My love for Poe is only slightly greater than my love of overly long play titles! This play rocks! I have always felt a deep dread at the every notion of Montressor. Steve Martin delivers a wonderful adaptation that drips with the delicious dread that Poe perfected.
