Whoa. That wasn’t the monkey’s paw, that was the whole damn monkey arm. This felt like a Tales From The Crypt episode. I could hear the high pitched laughter of the Crypt Keeper at the end. Bravo on upping the stakes to Cole Dzubak.

Morally speaking, there’s not a thing wrong with Burns and Crump’s plans. So long as you don’t pay too much attention. LeBlanc has created a comic duo that rivals the great vaudevillians of old. This is a fun short play that would be at home in an evening of dark comedy.
  • The Ambassador; or: the Disarmament of Nuclear Weapons

Diplomacy is speaking softly and carrying a large crustacean. This absurdist look at a politics on the edge of a lasting peace interrupted by bombastic golf lessons, particular appetites, and an upsetting fact about marine life. Ricardo Soltero-Brown masterfully tickles the brain with this meeting of ambassadors.

I feel Jude’s frustrations. I worry for Mrs. Ferris’s well being. I want to build a small stone henge with stolen paver stones. Jackie Floyd-Priskorn paints a brilliant picture of the early morning antics of a cantankerous elderly woman and her young caretaker. A hoot and a half. Perfect to pair with its predecessor.

Vince Gatton has worked magic with this script. Local yet global. Personal yet universal. Perfectly simple yet devastatingly complex. The characters are so rich they could buy your soul. While building on deep expectations about the setting and the people who reside there, Gatton doea an amazing job defying those expectations.

Bittersweet. But ultimately sweet sweet. This is a very real feeling exchange between two people who have been together long enough to truly know one another. Lisa Deferiend has created a truly original holiday tradition. Loved it!

The human body expresses emotions through posture, movement, and stillness. Sam Heyman has provided a script to utilize the expressive nature of the body in a life-affirming, love-affirming piece that would be breathtaking to watch.

Sublime. Simply sublime. I am a fan of all things paranormal and this dynamic play delivers with such heart and humor. These characters deserve their time on stage and Jennifer O'Grady deserves praise for bringing them to life. And by life, I mean full, well-rounded characters that exude life. I enjoyed this read immensely and could easily see it onstage in my mind's eye. If it finds its way to the stage soon, I will do my best to find my way to a seat in the audience.

I remember as a young Boy Scout being shown the rings in a tree stump. My scoutmaster pointed to where a fire happened a hundred years prior. Forever preserved in the tree’s memory. Physically preserved in the tree’s life. Lisa Feriend illustrates that we are also forever altered by trauma. At our core. And it is a part of us always.
  • Intricacies, Death and the Oxford Comma

Clever as ever, Scott Sickles gives us a delirious tale of punctuation gone fully awry. Here we have a hilarious story of a would-be-king, unsuspecting heirs to the throne, and one omitted comma. I kinda want a night of one acts revolving around grammar and punctuation with this show as its highlight.
