  • Christopher Soucy: Dinkers Taming Bangers

A few scant years ago I had no idea what pickleball was. Now, I can’t go anywhere without hearing about it. This is a fresh, fun, witty play that delivers Shakespearean level machinations. The dialogue is crisp and natural while also uncommonly funny.

  • Christopher Soucy: When Your Step-Father Wants To Rule The Earth

I don’t want to be the guy who says “That’s my jam!” everytime a Lovecraftian reference is dropped… but this is most definitely my jam! Dana Hall gives us the call of Cthulhu we’ve all been waiting to get! A fun stab at the family therapy trope with extra stabbing in the form of mind breaking cosmic entities hellbent on universal control.

  • Christopher Soucy: TOADS!!! (an amphibious nativity play)

I want this animated so I can watch it every Christmas with the Charlie Brown Christmas Special and the Muppet Christmas Carol. Hilarious. Weird. Weirdly hilarious. Hilariously weird. Jillian brings the thunder with this off kilter tale of a nativity gone very wrong.

  • Christopher Soucy: (Un)Drinkable

The heartbreaking truths of an environmental crime against innocent citizens. How easily misplaced trust turns treacherous. Deadly even. Dana Hall gives compelling voice to the victims of callous greed and mismanaged authority. A great show speaking important truths

  • Christopher Soucy: How to Talk to Your Child About BDSM

The birds and the bees and the chains and the whips. Awkward is putting it mildly. This spicy time adventure is brought to us courtesy of the brilliant Daniel Prillaman. Something strangely endearing about a family having a moment that is bound to have occurred countless times without anyone talking about it, at least not outside of therapy. That the mother and father are still as adventuresome after having a kid for ten years is commendable!

  • Christopher Soucy: I Don't DO Holidays

Well, this is just a wonderful serving of divine madness. Somewhere between the emptiness of an over commercialized of a holiday whose celebration creeps earlier and earlier each year and the sacrifices we make to show how devoted we are to our cultural observations of said holiday there is room to have a meaningful discussion with a loved one about how they feel about any given holiday. Prillaman manages to Prillaman as only a Prillaman can Prillaman. Prillaman!

  • Christopher Soucy: A Johnnie Walker Blue Christmas

I imagine I was both Randy and Stoge at some stage or another in my youth. I never learned to let go of my grudges or my guilt. They may be faded and rarely thought upon these days, but this show is a gentle reminder that we are not forever those awkward kids who didn’t know where they were heading. Great work, John Patrick Bray.

  • Christopher Soucy: You Need Nutmeg in Fishkill

There’s no way to properly convey the utter mayhem that unfolds in this play. A “Leave It To Beaver” episode gone very awry. There’s a little something for everyone. Witchcraft? Yessir. Demons? Gotcha covered. Hysterically hijinx? You betcha! Name dropping 19th century horror writer Arthur Machen? Check, check, and check! Loved this play!

  • Christopher Soucy: Nativity Scene

I came for the magic, I stayed for moral dilemma. Jennifer O’Grady has written a beautiful piece that would play well in holiday shows for all ages. Funny, wide, and magical, this play delivers.

  • Christopher Soucy: The Fifth Horseman

I would watch a whole series based on the “where are they now” motif concerning biblical entities. Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn has written a fun filled retrospeftive on faded glory and the possibility of a future reunion.
