  • Adam Richter: Hide and Seek

"The Velveteen Rabbit Part II" this ain't. Or maybe it is. A lot happens between the age when stuffed animals are everything to us and when we inch closer to the Social Security set. Lee R. Lawing's short comedy is a funny and completely unsentimental reunion between an old woman and her childhood bunny. The rapport these characters have — to say nothing of the costuming! — would make this a delight to see on stage. Bravo!

  • Adam Richter: sixty ton angel falls to the earth

Donald Rumsfeld, who lied to start a war, who endorsed the torture of civilians, who ignored the needs of U.S. troops after he put them in harms way, and who bought the home of the man who tortured Frederick Douglas, never got his comeuppance in life. So it falls to Dominica Plummer to give us some semblance of justice and she does so brilliantly in this short and powerful morality play. I hope to see it live on stage, and I hope the final moment can be staged. Brilliant!

  • Adam Richter: AN APPRECIATION

Sometimes the point of going to a gallery is to appreciate good art, and sometimes it's to BE SEEN appreciating good art. There's a vast chasm between the two, and Steve Martin brilliantly gives us both experiences in this rich and delightful short play. The dialogue in the beginning is sharp and funny, and the payoff at the end is — well, it's a work of art.

  • Adam Richter: Spokane Beauty (a one-minute play)

A lovely 1-minute play that captures the chaos, tragedy and beauty of life in dozens (!!) of interconnected lives. This was a joy to read.

  • Adam Richter: Finger

Reading this play, I was as eager as Vee to find out the owner of the item in the small box. What really kept me hooked was her own journey and the way that her big discovery changed her. This is a witty and touching play that would be great to see live.

  • Adam Richter: A QUARTER PLACED ON RAILROAD TRACKS

"A Quarter Placed on Railroad Tracks" is a poignant and tender two-hander about two friends whose paths are about to diverge onto completely different trajectories. A beautiful play by Steven G. Martin. This would be great to see on stage.

  • Adam Richter: At The Crossroads

"At the Crossroads" is a moving and inventive play about memory, loss and the world of Great Britain between the world wars. Alice Josephs seamlessly blends history and drama in this compelling one-act. A terrific read.

  • Adam Richter: The Roommate

Dominica Plummer's one-act is funny and disturbing, a brilliant snapshot of the early terror that we all went through (and far too many did not survive). As mask mandates ease and the push for "normal" becomes even more aggressive, "The Roommate" is an important reminder of what the early stages of this pandemic were like and what we could face again if we're not smart.

  • Adam Richter: Gratitude 31

Sometimes the best moments in life are the smallest ones. Daniel Prillaman's short piece perfectly captures one such encounter. It's an act of kindness that might seem ordinary in everyday life, but Prillaman elevates it to a scene that unfolds beautifully on stage.

  • Adam Richter: Solicitation

"Solicitation" is a wonderfully suspenseful play that gradually pulls you along, line by line, until the final payoff. This is a great noir drama with compelling characters and terrific dialogue.
