  • Jackie Martin: Great Hollow

"Great Hollow" is completely engaging from the first moment, and it only becomes more compelling as the audience slowly realizes what is going on in this old Cape house. Jillian Blevins manages to work a whole lot of backstory and character development into a short one-act without it ever feeling forced. Three great, dimensional roles and an unexpectedly beautiful ending.

  • Jackie Martin: DOUBLE-CROSS-DRESSING

Orlando and Rosalind have never been so endearing! This short play is a brilliant piece of work, deftly written with all the rhythm and charm of Shakespeare's best comedies. The premise is wonderful, and the connection between the lovers is palpable. Produce this all over!

  • Jackie Martin: Miracle and Her Minion

In "Miracle and Her Minion," Scott Sickles delivers two well-drawn characters for young actors looking for juicy roles. Bud and Miracle are funny and heartbreaking as they navigate the pitfalls of unrequited love and one-sided friendship. But don't let the YA spin fool you - these characters will resonate with adult audiences as well, and both parts would be a lot of fun for adult actors looking to get back in touch with their high school selves (for better or worse.) Totally theatrical and producible.

  • Jackie Martin: Tooth Or Dare

"Tooth or Dare" is a fantastic, funny dark comedy about our obsession with ratings, reviews, and personal brands. In this story, the Tooth Fairy is the ultimate influencer, benefitting from the admiration of her followers even while outsourcing any real work. The characters are distinctive and well-drawn - there are three excellent parts to play with here.

  • Jackie Martin: Early Decision

Mo isn’t ready to let go of her imaginary friend. Clancy, however, knows it’s what Mo needs. This play captures what it is like to be on the cusp of adulthood. Unexpected moments will keep audiences invested. “Early Decision” is a poignant, funny, and compelling short play.

  • Jackie Martin: The Realization Came Halfway Through the Donut

This love story is equal parts funny and relatable and oh, so touching. I have only known Ed and Marjorie for 10 minutes or so, but I'm rooting for them like crazy. Great two hander for any short play festival.

  • Jackie Martin: When Cranes Cha-Cha

When I read the story that inspired this piece, I hoped someone would turn it into a play. I'm so glad that someone is Emily McClain! This short play is very funny and has a great ending that the audience won't expect. Produce it, please!

  • Jackie Martin: The Old Railroad

I’m a sucker for some non-toxic masculinity, and “The Old Railroad” tugged on my heartstrings in all the right ways. I am always amazed when a writer is able to pack so much emotion and backstory into a 1 minute play- but I am not surprised when that writer is Scott Sickles. Add this one to your 1 minute play OR winter holiday festival.

  • Jackie Martin: The Angel

"The Angel" kept me guessing up until the last moment. It's a dark and intriguing play with two strong roles and great momentum - this piece will definitely have audiences talking long after the curtain falls.

  • Jackie Martin: Brothers on a Hotel Bed (15 minute play)

This play accomplishes so much in just 15 pages. It's beautifully written - poignant and engaging, with strong characters who feel fully drawn from the first moment. Great roles for two actors.
