Philip Williams always knows how to make an laugh. The comedy in this script is strong, it’s witty, and it also shows a slight desperation some have in finding work, willing to do, or be asked anything that is desired, no matter the circumstances or level of comfort some find themselves in. An endearing and charming ten-minute that I’d attend if performed live.

Wow, I love this monologue. As someone who’s struggled with their weight in the past, this piece truly hit home for me. Ethan is believable as he is powerful. Deray passionately displays the struggles one goes through on their weight loss journey. This would be excellent for a one-minute play festival!

“Partner Of” is a beautifully composed piece! The characters are deep, the plot is jarring, and the message is powerful. The opening monologue accentuates a poetic eloquence that Carnes carries throughout the piece. The shift between time periods were flawless, which is very difficult to do. Overall, a stunning and strong 10-minute piece. This play also has fantastic roles for women of colour. Fabulous work, Rachael!

“Moonlight over L.A” is a special piece. The subject matter is accentuated by the Noir theme, and the dialogue flows like a river. Ken Love has put every ounce of passion possible into the story, a gem of a play. Great work, Ken!

I don't have enough praise for Gonzalez's "Even Flowers Bloom in Hell, Sometimes." Crafted with absolute care, it has one of the most unique structures I've seen in a script, along with an eclectic blend of art-forms. Gonzalez's didactic piece shows you the lives of these well-rounded characters, and how a little light can encourage one's growth. I am in awe by your writing, Franky. I can't wait to check out more of your work!

Don't be fooled by the amount of comedy DeVita employs in this piece. "The Fierce Urgency of Now" has valuable, well-thought out characters, with a very interesting dynamic between Kyle and Dodo, along with displaying the harsh realities of a totalitarian workplace. Well-researched and well-written, this piece is a surefire attention grabber! Keep up the fantastic work, Doug!

William’s 10-minute play deals with the subject of memory loss, and I must add how honest and sweet this play is. It’s short, it’s concise, and it’ll make you feel something, all in a short amount of time. “A Moment of Clarity” would be a perfect addition to any short play festival!

DeVita has put on a playwrighting showcase with his piece “Phillie’s Trilogy.” This piece is structurally ambitious, yet DeVita cohesively ties everything together in this comedic, heart-wrenching period piece. The story he so beautifully tells is a testament to his ability. The praise for this piece is well-deserved. Stupendous work, Doug!
