  • Verna and Jeannie
    1 Aug. 2015
Original characters. The surprise revelation from Jeannie makes the play a page turner because she just doesn't stop talking. Jeannie's offer to Verna -- I'm not going to tell you what it is -- is another great surprise. I would like to see these two old ladies in a longer work.
  • El Loro, El Gato y El Espiritu Santo (or The Parrot, the Cat and the Holy Ghost)
    1 Aug. 2015
The playwright's words create hilarious stage pictures and situations. I enjoyed how how the playwright intensified the story as the three teenagers try to cover up the "crime." An original story concept -- and that's rare. The ending is unexpected, and provides the best laugh.
  • (SHORT COMEDY:) Every Inch Counts
    1 Aug. 2015
The woman is so desperate for affection that she just might have sex with a furry. Creepy, weird, funny. I like how the play gets crazier, page after page.
  • A Walk In The Ocean (a ten minute play)
    30 Jul. 2015
In ten-minutes Levine says so much about relationships and passion. The setting -- a blank stage that is an ocean floor -- is memorable. What the playwright says about "wading" in a relationship is beautiful and honest.
  • The Heinrich Maneuver (a ten minute play)
    30 Jul. 2015
Cray-cray-crazy fun. No synopsis from me -- read it, laugh out loud. Ridiculous revelations. Another winning play with a fast-paced silly plot.
  • Superhero (a ten minute play)
    30 Jul. 2015
Levine's superhero is not a comic-book-cut-out. A dynamic character that will win you over. A comedy that says something about the pure energy coursing through your veins, about your undeniable superhero potential.
  • Cabfare For The Common Man (a ten minute play)
    30 Jul. 2015
Ah-mazing. This will definitely end up being one of my favorite ten-minute plays of all time. So much happens -- so many life events -- during the play, and that creates a one-of-a-kind theatrical spectacle. If you produce this play, it'll certainly be a winning production -- it will charm your audience. The journey of life from childhood to puberty to young adulthood to adulthood takes place in a cab -- in a bed. Brilliant. Enjoy the ride. I want to add -- I think this would be perfect for students new to directing in high school or college.
  • IT'S OUR TOWN, TOO
    29 Jul. 2015
A beautiful, condensed GL version of Wilder's classic. The wedding, with two dads and two moms, made me smile. We (GLBTs) are Americans, part of the human race, with the same rituals as straights, part of the same daily struggle. We love and we're loved. The children of GLBT parents have lucked out just like Chance and Molly. A play for today and for the future. If you're interested in producing a queer short, part of an evening's worth of queer shorts, choose this play!
  • Barbie Throws a House Party!
    29 Jul. 2015
A LOT OF FUN. The playwright does an excellent job capturing the voices of the famous plastic dolls. Listen, and you might recognize the voices of young adults, those that are self-absorbed, who seek pleasure without any conscience.
  • Food For Fish
    29 Jul. 2015
I remember how much I enjoyed reading this play...it was during the first few years learning the craft of playwriting. But you don't want to read about this play's influence on my playwriting. I think this play would be perfect not just for a theater interested in contemporary drama; it's perfect for colleges, especially those involved in the American College Theater Festival. It's a winning script: it's an imaginative rift on Chekhov's Three Sisters, it's perfect for a trio of female actors, and it's intelligent. Memorable odd characters that will entertain your audience from beginning to end.
