What is compelling about this short play is not that it is a breakup story that we can identify with. Rather it's the heartbreaking, painful insight on any relationship -- that one can prove to another person (a loved one, a friend, etc) your commitment, only to find out that the other person doesn't realize it -- even after several years. See page 6; makes you stop and think...

HAHAHAHA!!! Jolly knows how to intensify the cray-cray! What starts out as common bickering between a straight married couple turns into something else when the friend Christopher shows up -- a hilarious, almost absurdist comedy in which a couple's trust is tested. Christopher is such a dynamic character - what a great part for any actor. I'm not going to describe any memorable moments for you because I want you to be surprised. Produce this play. Your audience will laugh from beginning to end.

Why can't anyone except Donny see Bobby? That question kept me turning the pages. This play is NOT fluff, the stuff of the romance novels Donny writes; it's an intelligent, honest presentation of a common artistic dilemma -- choose an easy life creating art that sells or creating art that matters to you? This dilemma is presented with great theatricality and humor that makes for an engaging entertainment. I enjoyed the Act 2 scene where lovers act out what Donny types -- HILARIOUS!

Dear Artist. Read this play. Three strong roles for women. The playwright does a fine job creating tension between the sisters, Mel and Harmony, that at times it's like they're in a war zone. The story concept is compelling, and as you read you want to know, Why isn't Mel as excited as her sister Harmony about the bridal dress and the wedding? What's with the dripping sound? What went wrong in Afghanistan? Believable, intensifying dialog; moments of brutal honesty like little explosions; touching moments of sisterhood; shocking cruelty; eerie images; moving revelations -- a thoroughly satisfying read.

Burbano rocks! This play is more than just fun -- it has some great songs -- it's also a compelling story about friendship, lost and renewed. The playwright does a fine job building tension between Slade and Luisa, especially in Scenes 4 and 9 --exceptional playwriting. The play is full of surprises, compelling intimacy, and beautiful lines. Hey, artistic directors, produce this play; actors/directors, get this play produced -- a great play for female actors!

I was fortunate to listen to two readings of an earlier version of this play. I highly recommend this play for production. You may not agree with Sheila's objective, but you can't keep your eyes off her. She's an extraordinary character, a great challenging role for an actor. This play is brutal, intense, shocking, at times offensive, but that is what makes for memorable theatre. A fine example of necessary theatre.
