  • Asher Wyndham: The Way You Made Me (a solo show)

I've read a lot of monologues, and Partain goes places emotionally where most playwrights don't.
She goes deep, under the skin, it's soulful, heartfelt, painful, joyful, sexy, tender, poignant.
Her explorations of self-esteem, sexuality, body, womanhood, aging, loving, courtship -- all of it creates an emotionally effective and expanisve monologue.
And it's poetic, but it never feels contrived.
Just perfect for a fringe festival, a solo festival, or a college showcase of new talent.

  • Asher Wyndham: TEACH

This is one of the most intense plays I've read on NPX.
Inventive structure with whiplash-courtroom questioning and fluid pacing kept me invested to the end.
This play asks so many tough questions, among them: when parents are out of the picture, when they don't give a sh*t about their child's academic/emotional/ intellectual growth, how much is too much for a teacher to get involved?
If Hoke's play Elevator Girl made your audience uncomfortable, forcing them to question their biases and perceptions on gender and power, this will do the same.
I would love to see this performed!

  • Asher Wyndham: ELEVATOR GIRL

Hoke's ELEVATOR GIRL is a remarkable play because it can't be dismissed. It will f-up your evening in a good way. It's a dangerous play because it makes you question assumptions about gender and sex. It will definitely get people arguing after the show. Much of it has the pacing and intensity like a comic book for the stage.
A scenic and media designer will have a fun time collaborating.

  • Asher Wyndham: GM: ROB & SUE

The lives of these people devastated by plant closings is rarely seen on stage. Thank you Goldman-Sherman for bringing their voices to the page.
Makes you think about all the politicians that continue to forget about these people.

  • Asher Wyndham: Howard (a ten minute play)

Levine comes up with some of the wackiest plays, but always has something important to say about life and relationships, and it never feels slapped on/forced.
    This is another winner.

  • Asher Wyndham: P is for...

Another winning ten-minute play. Again, Seinuk surprises with a sexual situation that explores tension and intimacy in exciting ways with believable dialog.
This porn-positive play would be a hit at your comedy showcase.

  • Asher Wyndham: GWEN HAS A DATE (a 10 minute comedy)

Delightful. A perfect ten minutes for your festival. One of my top ten 10 minute plays on NPX.

  • Asher Wyndham: Chuck's Mom

We blame the parents for a kid's wrongdoing or even death by drugs, but are they always to blame?
What responsibility do we have as a community to prevent these deaths by drugs?
This play doesn't directly ask those questions, but the story will inspire a conversation.
Vovos captures fragility and anger, full-bodied, soulful mourning that will leave your heart heavy.
The opening monologue would be a winning monologue for an auditioning or competiting actor.
Another excellent play by Vovos that deserves productions.

  • Asher Wyndham: Leaves

Hageman's play invites not just kids to a conversation about family violence, but all familes, the entire community. She doesn't write just to entertain, but enlarge your heart and mind.
Producing this for kids and adults may seem inappropriate for schools, but it's important. It must be produced now. It's kind of dangerous, but that's Hageman for you -- she doesn't play it safe.
