  • THE BET
    3 Dec. 2020
Hitchcock meets the Coen Brothers in this taut and suspenseful modern noir that absolutely satisfies with its air-tight suspense and flair for dark humor.
  • Mother
    3 Dec. 2020
A hysterically funny and compact 2-minute comedy that wastes no time. The premise is terrific, the writing is witty. Of course, J.J. would be a gift for any actor to play, but is especially accessible to a riotous child actor. Well done!
  • FUCK BUDDY # 2: A MONOLOGUE
    21 Nov. 2020
Another home run from Asher Wyndham! This is not a monologue. It's a searing, dirty, aching, fully-realized stream-of-consciousness thought bubble that pours out of this character in more human a way than you could ever hope. If you loved "Fuck Buddy #1", you'll be enthralled by "Fuck Buddy #2"!
  • Zoom Exposure
    21 Nov. 2020
Irreverent, kinky, and clever gay sex comedy that comes loaded with puns and quips, thanks to Lee R. Lawing's intelligent writing. A fun read, and I would be even more curious to see it performed!
  • Rebel Judy
    21 Nov. 2020
    J. Julian Christopher's "Rebel Judy" is a period piece, yet it is timeless, sincere, tender and romantic. It is also a moving reminder of how our fight as LGBTQ Americans persists and persists to this very day. This author's got his finger on the pulse. And it further cements him as, indeed, my favorite NPX discovery.
  • Two to Make an Accident
    21 Nov. 2020
I crave the boldness and unflinching intimacy that accompanies all of J. Julian Christopher's writing. This is a refreshing, disturbing, and psychosexual dark comedy that explores two utterly messy and human people. And if you've read "The Great Gatsby", you know these characters well and Christopher's execution of them makes perfect sense. If F. Scott Fitzgerald, Tennessee Williams, and Mike Nichols came together for a literary threesome, you'd get "Two to Make an Accident". A slight change of pace, yet still so distinct of the author himself.
  • Status Update
    21 Nov. 2020
This is a funny and poignant look at parenthood and mother-son relationships, and all of the annoyances, pain, and importance of little things that goes with it. Vince Gatton remains one of my favorite writers on NPX to watch.
  • Neon Glowing New
    21 Nov. 2020
Imagine if Jim's Dad from "American Pie" went to a rave with his kids. Vince Gatton sure can. "Neon Glowing New" is a riot from beginning to end, with a fair share of surprises to upend the laughs.
  • Cassie Strickland Is Not Under the Bed
    21 Nov. 2020
Knowing Vince Gatton personally and knowing his amazing affinity for good horror stories, "Cassie Strickland Is Not Under the Bed" has all the makings of a classic creep-out. Filled with enough paranoia, slight humor, and genuine scares to make the EC Comics Cryptkeeper envious, this one's not to be missed!
  • Meanwhile, in the Lobby
    21 Nov. 2020
"Meanwhile, in the Lobby" is one of Michael Aman's strongest. An adorable and silly little peek behind the curtain of theatre ushers and a solid ten-minute comedy.
