  • Forgive Thyself

John Busser's comic timing in his dialogue is spot-on from the very start, and "Forgive Thyself" is very funny in that regard. But it also has a ton of heart and good questions to ask. A smart 15-minute and a sure-fire dream for actors.

In one minute, Claudia Haas screams it loud and clear for the people in the back! Produce it, perform it!
  • Bless You

Chuckle-inducing all the way through! Definitely a unique romantic comedy, almost as if Durang took a shot at writing horror. Loved this!
  • ODE TO THE PLAYWRIGHT
    6 May. 2020
This one's not just for playwrights. This is for any creative mind out there struggling with self-doubt. Affirming, encouraging, and most of all, empowering!
  • Blunk
    6 May. 2020
Flies fast and loose and packs a punch in just one minute! A funny and moving look at not just friendship and thought processes, but also much-needed vulnerability. Can't wait to see what else Evan Baughfman comes up with!
  • Everything But Dead
    6 May. 2020
The cool thing about Richard Lyons Conlon's "Everything But Dead" is that it never ceases to surprise you. Even in 10 minutes, the writer has twists and jaw-dropping new information laden throughout the plot. I've read quite a few pieces on the tricky topic of euthanasia, and while Conlon walks the wire swiftly and neatly, he manages to avoid sappiness and write something blunt and different. Like a 10-minute domestic drama by way of Tracy Letts or David Lindsay-Abaire. This is a good one.
  • Intellectuals
    6 May. 2020
Going off of a nifty virtual reading through the Laboratory Theatre of Florida, Scott Sickles' "Intellectuals" is a very funny return to old-fashioned, screwball romantic farce from beginning to end filled with witty one-liners, daffy and likable characters, and smart satirical commentary on challenged norms. Sickles is a writer than can dole out comedy and drama in equal measure with everything he writes. Well done!
  • About the Kid
    2 May. 2020
A hilariously and palpably awkward exchange between a gay dad and a teacher who is adjusting to a rather new circumstance. Also a timely look at challenged norms that jumps off the page at you. Gotta love Kevin King!
  • CONFLUENCE
    2 May. 2020
Part poem/part monologue with a truly beautiful and fluid rhythm to it as well as one really perfect way to word the current situation we're all in: "a new way for minutes to move". Rachael Carnes hits the nail on the head! Terrific!
  • Goddess Of The Hunt

A delightfully bonkers and smart throwback screwball comedy that revels in its dark wit and satiric humor! Mad props to Doug DeVita!
