  • Kate Danley: That Kind of Boy [a 1-minute play]

A charming, delightful play that packs a twist and a punch to the feels in all under a minute. Simple, spare, and oh so lovely!

  • Kate Danley: Date Night

The characters are an absolute delight! Such fun roles for older actors!

  • Kate Danley: The Paper Hangers

I caught this play at the Project LaFemme's Page-to-Stage Festival at the Curtis Theatre. A beautiful, haunting, imaginative piece filled with timely statements on relationships and women's assumed roles (whether wanted or not) in "family." It'll leave you thinking long after the play is done.

  • Kate Danley: Deanna and Paul

I caught this show at the Project LaFemme's Page to Stage Festival at the Curtis Theatre. Sweet, wistful, and full of love and hope. The audience was left in tears and I heard several audience members in the lobby say they were still crying long after the curtain came down. It had the poetic beauty and melancholy of a country song. Just lovely!

  • Kate Danley: A Pirate Carol

A totally silly, totally fun send up to "A Christmas Carol" with a piratey twist. If you have a middle school or high school drama program, this would be a great show. It features a large cast, great roles for women (and they get to be pirates!), and a really lovely (without being preachy) anti-bullying message. A total pro-kindness holiday script that would be an absolute hoot to do for general audiences.

  • Kate Danley: THE WORLD'S WORST THEATERGOER: THE WORLD'S WORST MONOLOGUE

This is a fantastic little monologue and a great way to warm up the crowd, while also subtly encouraging them to turn off those phones and not eat through the show. Get rid of your dull curtain speeches and do this monologue instead!

  • Kate Danley: The Kiss (a ten minute play)

Such a sweet, fun, poignant short filled with heart and lovely dialog. One of those plays that will illicit an audible "Aw" from your audience at the end. A great addition to an evening of shorts!

  • Kate Danley: Two-Timing Loaf of Bread

Totally absurd and hilarious and one of those plays that allows the funny ladies to really shine. I laughed out loud reading this one and would love to see it done live. A great play for college students or scene study (it's aaaaalll about the subtext.)

  • Kate Danley: WAITING

It's like if Caryl Churchill and Christopher Durang got together and wrote a 1930s screwball comedy that skewers Broadway dreams with harsh reality, while set in 1980s New York restaurant culture. Brilliantly crafted with sparkling dialog and unlike any other play I've ever read before. This is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered!

  • Kate Danley: Terrible Louise and Red Beard Ryan, a pirate play

Absolutely hilarious! Totally fun! It's like a ten minute rom com, except with two pirates from opposite sides of the sea falling in love in a very piratey way. This would be a GREAT piece for high school or college students, RenFests, warm up entr'acte for Twelfth Night, or any place looking for a crowd pleaser and sword fights. A total delight!
