  • Brian Cern: Five Good Reasons

The honesty in this is what gets me. Sure, it takes more than love to make a marriage work, that's for certain. But it is a sizable part of the equation.Abi, in her overtly pragmatic rebuke of Jake, shows her true colors, leaving Jack to rethink his life choices. It's a one-minute play packed with a lifetime of drama. Well done!

  • Brian Cern: Ophelia, Athena, What's the Difference?

I smiled from ear to ear while reading it, am about to chat with the educational coordinator at the local children's theatre about building a camp around this. Wickedly fun! Approachable and irreverent without being campy, Alles stays faithful to the source material, while allowing the jokes to fly. Alles continues to show why he is one of my favorite playwrights out there.

  • Brian Cern: WOKE UP CALL - Satire sketch in 3 minutes - FOR FACING FEBRUARY Prompt 11 - the Number 5

A brisk and biting satire about the times we live in. When nothing makes sense, everything is acceptable... Which is what is executed here.
I hope that we never find such behavior acceptable, and I pray that the confusion felt by the character here leads to a greater change.

  • Brian Cern: OH, INDIA

OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!

Everything that is glorious about Indian Cinema, right here in a minute and a half! You can see the technicolor! All it needs is a 30-second dance number to take it out and it would be golden!
The life, the passion, the language... It's all here!!!

  • Brian Cern: THE FIRST CONSTITUTION LOTTERY [A 1-MINUTE SATIRICAL MONOLOGUE]

A quick to the point (oh, how I want this to be a) satire about the stripping of fundamental rights guaranteed to us.
But, as we have seen, a satire can too often become a tragedy as those sworn to protect the country insist on destroying it.
A cautionary tale, very much worth the read.

  • Brian Cern: 37 Origami Bees

The beautiful thing about Busser’s work is his ability to find the comedic in those everyday annoyances.

And then blow them up to the absurd.

We all have those moments of frustration where the appliances ment to make out lives easier completely fail to do so in such a magnificent and glorious way that it can only be said to be open rebellion. Which is what we have here in another of Busser’s fantastic, laugh out loud scripts.

  • Brian Cern: LOSING DREAMS

There are many tragedies in life. Thankfully most are minor, insignificant little speed bumps that post tiny inconveniences. Some are a little larger, and you cope and process them because life keeps moving forward and what choice do you have? Some, however, are so mind boggling obscenely large, that you are forced to treat them as small ones, just so you can keep moving forward. That’s what Miller offers us here: a wonderful glimpse of a woman trying to explain her past to her grandson. Superb

  • Brian Cern: Hansel and Gretel: The Tables Turned

A fun romp through a twist on the Hansel and Gretel story. Good on laughs and a strong message of solidarity, Brandon clearly enjoyed herself while writing this.
This isn’t a play to read, it is one thing hat should be experienced on stage.

  • Brian Cern: Missing Danny (A Monologue)

A beautiful and moving reflection of those that we have lost along the way, that how they influence us in a thousand subtle ways.
Robust and tender, Allies packs a heart-rending amount of emotion into just a few moments of stage time. Exceedingly well done.
