  • D. Lee Miller: TRICK OR TREAT - MONOLOGUE

Wonderfully visual, Vivian Lermond gives us a Halloween story we can all relate to - We are all Will when he reminisces about trick or treating one particular year. We can feel his breath in his costume... This monologue nails that first season when you are trick or treating only with your friends. A delightful holiday monologue perfect for the Halloween season.

  • D. Lee Miller: BAWDY MAUDIE - MONOLOGUE

I like Bawdy Maudie, one of Vivian Lermond's newest creations. Maudie is a clear-eyed woman telling her story of independence from marriage. Come walk down memory lane with her -- and then be surprised at a quick turn of events! This is a monologue that will please any actress looking to show off her talents. This should be performed - and soon.

  • D. Lee Miller: The Believer

This is a sweet romantic comedy looking for a light at the end of a tunnel: Can one old friend rekindle a romance with his onetime sweetheart? Neither wants life to pass them by but will they find that place that brings them together. Using old songs to complement his actions, together they help define what they want from life. THE BELIEVER is a delightful little play that will make you think of your own possibilities.

  • D. Lee Miller: TOUCH THE MOON One Act Play, 3 Characters

Arianna Rose's heartbreaking and powerful play reintroduces us to a story from the news - A mother fights for the truth regarding her hardest loss: her child. The dialogue is direct and compact while the dances of alibis and memory make a chain to the final moments... So well-written and powerful, it is no wonder it has garnered so much attention.

  • D. Lee Miller: An Excavation of Lace

What I love about An Excavation of Lace, Scott Sickles' new short play, is the childlike mind that has created the mystery. This play holds the kernel of creativity. Drama. Discovery. An excavation of a writer's mind. And it's so nicely written by a wonderful writer. Not surprising. I enjoyed this very much.

  • D. Lee Miller: Poetica

This play tickled my funny bone. This treatise on the art of poetry is as necessary to artistic chatter as bubbles are to champagne. As the importance rises, so do the bubbles right up your nose and some out your mouth. But without the bubbles, champagne is so acidic. Just my opinion. An enjoyable piece of theatre!

  • D. Lee Miller: The Bearer (A One-Minute Play)

This photograph of a moment between father and son reveals relationships they have to the world around them and then to an earlier moment. That earlier moment reveals the relationships to each member of the family and to the current moment, now shattered. A beautiful, compact piece of writing.

  • D. Lee Miller: Viva - A Monologue

In VIVA, Weibezahl captures the life of a 90+ woman in the nutshell of her applying her makeup. We get glimpses of the different layers of her life, while reliving it as she does herself - in and out. Like the heights of an iceberg still showing. All of this is colored by the possibility of no future. This is bittersweet and nicely drawn.

  • D. Lee Miller: Matinee

MATINEE by Robert Weibezahl captures the generation gap of mother/daughter in today's world. As a mother and daughter, I identified on both side of the gap - and was can say that this playwright hit the nail on the head. Well-written with a real punch, this would be a perfect fit most any festival or theatre evening. Well done!

  • D. Lee Miller: Making Some Noise

Claudia Haas' play, MAKING SOME NOISE, is a heartfelt play with many layers. Almost musical, it struck me as a piece with three variations -- each dealing with tragedies and grief. How do we deal with our grief? Everyone is different in this play, just as everyone is different in life. What I particularly liked were the age differences of the three sisters involved, their different relationships with their mother and their relationships to history, too. Well done, Haas.
