  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Thought Doesn't Count

Omg. This is so well built. The story almost takes you by surprise and then you just ride the wave of emotion to the hopeful ending. This is about love and great loss and moving closer to more love.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Rapunzel, on the Couch

Oh wow. This modern, grim faerie tale shows us the horrors of enduring childhood abuse through to the self medication we feel we need to get through it. The Hair as a character representing the outward appearance given to the world, yet the burden that leaves on poor Rapunzel. Absolutely devastating. A true grim faerie tale for today.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Art of... Dating

This is super funny and adorable! I can see the ending of this play going over like gangbusters! Especially in college theatres. Are you a looking for a fun, yet different comedy to direct? This might be the one act for you!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: [the inner universe]

The characters in this play have so much power because their relationships aren't transactional in any way. However, Jackson's relationship with himself is transactional and that is why he has so much turmoil. Even with the stars and theories, everything about this is so human and real. A beautiful painting of a play. A designer's dream.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: A Sign You Were Alive

Wow. This is so well crafted and engaging! Losing a child to a disease, mythical or not is so terrifying and life changing. James proves he would do anything to keep his daughter with him. It's fun to watch him try to adjust to who she is and who he thinks she is. But as the end slowly reveals itself, the audience will gasp.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Thanks for the Mammaries!

I adore these characters. This is such a fun way of sharing this process with the uninformed. It's relatable and funny and still respectful to others, including Harold the spleen, which is just such a funny bit! This is vaudeville for today and I love it!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Vampire Cesario

YES! I love this new twist on evil...is it new? It feels new. But this is so wonderfully creepy and then deliciously weird. This is the start of a beautiful new genre! I'm not laughing!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: A Deadly Engagement

Well, I wrote a much better rec for this before it was devoured by the 404 error monster. But I want to make sure it is known that this was a wonderful and classic in execution murder mystery parlor play. The clues, the red herrings, the illicit love affairs, all come together in a beautiful dance of murder! If your theatre is looking for a murder mystery your audience doesn't already know by heart, this is the one for you to consider!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Bangs and Whimpers

I read the warning, but still...WOW! This is so brilliantly devised. It really does show how stupid violence and war really is...and in a darkly funny way. Seriously, people will be icked out, but hopefully they will remember this before threatening another war with a neighbor or neighboring country. I am in awe of how smart this play is. Take that "A Modest Proposal!"

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Cremains to Be Seen

This is such a great way to deal with grief. We will all go through this at some point, and I am glad I will have the puns of this play running through my mind when it is my time. The hard part for me will to be more of a Daniel and less of a Corie...but I do adore Corie!
