  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Please Exit the Horse

Existential dread in horse form. One horse accepts the life they are dealt and looks for the love and joy they can see (despite the blinders) and the other may be too smart to be happy. And isn't that always the way with people, too? I hope they all get to go to a happy sanctuary and find love and joy without blinders.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Are There Still Sandwiches?

This short about WGA writers on strike is hilarious, odd and very inspirational. The petty backstabbing at the beginning becomes a rally together moment. Nothing is perfect, especially the entertainment industry. But that's why it's so important to come together with friends and enemies in the business alike to fight for the basics you need and deserve.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Time's Up, Pencils Down

Omigosh, this is such a smart play about the dangers of messing with time travel. But there is some beauty in The Applicant's desire to travel. It just seems clear that despite good intentions, time travel should never happen! Very cool and engaging dialogue.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Re-Gifted

This short play had me holding my breath. Grief and loss is so very personal. 2 people can lose the same thing and grieve together, but their journey through that grief is so very different. Louanne and Jeremy illustrated this journey in these powerful 9 pages. No pun intended, (but maybe a little because that's how I handle grief) this is intensely heartbreaking.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Last Wrongs

Holy wow. This is a scene of shrapnel from an awful event that ruined many lives. Everything about it is uncomfortable and devastating. The characters feel very real and extremely flawed, but their motivations are so understandable as well as terrible. Which is what makes this short so compelling.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: An Awkward Conversation on the Way to the Ice Dispenser (short)

This was terrifying. I have endured many Michigan winter nights and they hold an eerie mystery on their own. But this story had me holding my breath from the start. This is what makes people afraid of the night, the cold, and helping strangers at a motel!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: WILMA WITH THE WEATHER: A MONOLOGUE

This hits so hard. I am shaken because this is so real and so painful. The expectation that women who aren't aesthetically pleasing are an affront to some men is so prevalent. Wilma bravely calls them out on air, but just because she's brave doesn't mean she isn't hurting. I hurt with her.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Santa Noir

John Pie P.I. gets a much deserved(?) Christmas special! So many holiday songs for the butchering! So many noir scenarios for the skewering. We will all be the nuts roasting on an open fire by the end of this play. Just try not to sing it!

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: The Divorce Reunion

The shape of family is so different for people. And to witness the cracks and scars developed over years starting to heal between these half-siblings is absolutely engaging and quietly beautiful. Children have little control over their lives and decisions are made for them, but Diana and Liam are just realizing in their 30s that they are in control of their family dynamics now.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Unbelted

This is so engaging. A story many of us never get to see staged. And Dan's aging out of a career he gave his life, body and love to is very relatable. I can see this as a very popular series...maybe not on Netflix, if they did Dan dirty like that!
