  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Stupid Ghost

"Stupid Ghost" is great. Our narrator ghost teaches us a little about ghosts and assures us that ghosts would never hurt us and don't follow people - but then our narrator meets a very pretty girl. And her very pretty boyfriend. And, well... The dialogue in this play is hilarious and the whole thing is fast-paced and pure entertainment. Weird and wonderful.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: BUZZFEED, DONALD TRUMP, & DEAD BLACK KIDS

This play is terrific. The dialogue moves along at a clip as two best friends get ready to work on a group project together. It starts out light and fun and slowly becomes more and more uncomfortable. I would love to hear an audience react to this one live. Such a great piece!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Game: A Short Play

This play is great. Isolation leads to boredom leads to jealously leads to desperation - and it's funny! There's a lot to unpack in this 10 minute play. You should definitely read it.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: The John Wilkes Booth High School for the Performing Arts Presents: The Most Inclusive, Least Offensive Play Ever: An After School Special

When I saw this title, I thought to myself, 'I bet that play's funny.' And, you guys, it IS. It's very funny. The theater program at the John Wilkes Booth High School for the Performing Arts (which only does math-related shows) is at risk of being dissolved because theater is offensive (and because they're running out of math-related shows.) Can the drama kids save the program and prevent the drama teacher from being forced to teach only driver's ed (something she's very good at, but not passionate for)? This play is a delightful ride.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Everlasting Chocolate Therapy

I love this play. We catch up with the kids from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" fifteen years later and see how the experience has shaped and changed them. The characters are fantastic, the dialogue is sharp, and the jokes are perfect. I didn't want it to end. I especially loved that each character got a moment of poignant reflection, even in the midst of the hilarity. You feel for all of them, even as you're laughing.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Aunt Zelda's Painting

This one act is great! Aunt Zelda has died, and when her niece and nephew (and nephew's girlfriend - it's a mini vacation, after all!) arrive to clear out her house and settle her estate, they discover a stolen de Kooning in her bedroom. What to do? There's great physical comedy and every character has something fun to do. It would be hilarious on stage!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Come When I Call

I could read plays by Melanie Coffey all day. "Come When I Call" is about a woman who wants to have a baby before she gets too old, so her friend offers her husband to be the sperm donor. What could go wrong? All the things. Obviously all the things will go wrong. This play is complex and theatrical (I love the way Melanie uses space in this one!) and the best part is you feel for every character. No one is a villain, they're just a bunch of well-intentioned people who got themselves into a mess. It's great.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: MIRACLE ON NEVADA STATE ROUTE 375 [A 1-MINUTE PLAY]

This is delightful. Funny and sharp and full of the kind of exasperation that marriage can bring - until the miracle happens. A well-spent minute!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: No Right Time, a virtual play in 10 minutes

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful short play. It captures what frontline workers and their families are going through with COVID so perfectly. It’s the kind of work that will help future generations get a sense of what this pandemic was like.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Forgotten Falls - Full Length Thriller

Two sisters decide to kill the abusive husband of their third sister, but nothing is as clear cut as it seems. What I thought was going to be essentially a theatrical version of "Goodbye Earl" (which would have been plenty enjoyable) ended up being way more complex. My allegiance bounced from one character to another as the play unfolded, with surprises revealed right up until the end.
