  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Top Shelf Tolstoy

Oh my gosh, I love this. A woman goes to her local library to get a library card and discovers that the library now has a full bar as a way to raise money - and fewer books. So much fun! Smart and fast and so engaging, this would be an audience favorite in any evening of short plays.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: A Wee Rembrandt

Wow, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this! Based on a real-life robbery of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, "A Wee Rembrandt" is a short play about the two unlucky guards who were on duty that night, as they pass time tied up in the museum's basement, waiting to be found in the morning. Their banter is hysterical and left me wishing the play was much longer than 20 pages. I will definitely be checking out more of Schatzie Schaefers' work!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Abridged Theatre History For People Who Have A Cursory Interest* | *(please note we have not verified these facts)

I read this one because the title intrigued me, and I'm so glad I did. A delightful, theater-based dialogue between two men who don't know a whole lot about the theater. What a fun short play!

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Stanley Hotel

Oooh I really enjoyed this short play! It's a ghost story - but sweet. A ghost-hunting couple discuss ghosts they've seen, what makes some people wander forever after they die, and what they hope for each other after death. I love the natural dialogue, and I love the conclusions these characters reach.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Drill

This one-minute play about how active shooter drills have become a routine part of school life is powerful and infuriating. It says so much with so little - the mark of a successful one-minute play.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: God Chooses Arkansas

This short play about the lengths some sports fans will go to see their team win is hilarious. The stakes raise steadily (and entertainingly) right up to the last second of the game. What a great play for comedic actors to go wild with.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: PLAINCLOTHES

Plainclothes is such a fabulous play! It deals with racial profiling and the us vs them mentality while at the same time being hugely entertaining and often hilarious. The characters are rich and the kind of roles actors dream of. I really love how Plainclothes handles so many big issues without ever feeling preachy. This play is great.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Stay Awhile

This short play is a sweet, sad exploration of grief and how difficult it is to say goodbye. In only ten pages, Dana Hall creates an entire world with many specific details of this family's past and present. What a lovely play about how difficult it is to lose a life partner, and how equally difficult it is to watch someone you love grieve that loss in an unreachable place.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Glint

When I started reading this short play about demonic possession, I didn't think my reaction at the end was going to be, "Well, that was adorable," but here we are. What a sweet short play! Scott Sickles is terrific.

  • Lisa Dellagiarino Feriend: Clyt; or, The Bathtub Play

This play is gorgeous. Such a beautiful study on motherhood and sibling rivalry and marriage and loss, all through the lens of a well-known Ancient Greek story, updated with modern elements, like phones and malls. I want so desperately to see this staged.
