  • Jack Levine: Some Game

ADAM RICHTER’s one-minute play is a must-see. It should be included in a Festival so as many people as possible can ask themselves: Do we really want our children, grandchildren, and any other child we know, thinking that playing a game of killing and war is harmless? “Some Game” is impactful. Bravo!

  • Jack Levine: The Bearer (A One-Minute Play)

DC CATHRO explores the impact the death of celebrities can have on us. This short piece is an interesting and thoughtful discussion between a father and his adult son. “The Bearer” is more than reminiscing about an event of someone’s death. It is an introspective look at the emotions associated with hearing and telling about the loss of someone we never met but thought we knew from afar.

  • Jack Levine: GWEN HAS A DATE (a 10 minute comedy)

MARJ O’NEILL-BUTLER’s play, “Gwen Has A Date”, is a sweet, endearing, and charming piece in which two girlfriends come to vet Gwen’s date. In the final analysis, only the two on the date can decide if their date is someone they want to continue seeing. I love all the characters are older.

  • Jack Levine: Fresh Paint

MAXIMILLIAN GILL’s monologue has the power of revealing a hurtful truth, the passion of a father’s desire to protect his family, and the insight of a son understanding there needs to be a recognition and acceptance of all people as equals in our Country. “Fresh Paint” is truly beautiful and inspiring, if only to awaken our awareness of hate crimes. Bravo!

  • Jack Levine: God Chooses Arkansas

LEE R. LAWING’s play is a wonderful little piece in which two loyal fans of different universities try to convince God that their team deserves to win. “God Chooses Arkansas” shows the passion, devotion, and commitment each fan has and their total wellness to do whatever is necessary to advance in the Tournament.

  • Jack Levine: Memory

RACHEL FEENEY-WILLIAMS is one of my favorite playwrights. “Memory” is a gem and has interesting characters and plot. I throughly enjoyed reading this play and think it has the potential to be expanded to a full-length play.

  • Jack Levine: Crime Scene

MARTIN HEAVISIDES can turn a crime scene on its head, totally get you going in the wrong directions, and leave you surprised and satisfied with his wit and storytelling abilities. “Crime Scene” is a wonderful play, with readers and audiences will love.

  • Jack Levine: We Got Married

GEORGE SAPIO’s play, “We Got Married”, is hilarious. This play can be cast in a multitude of ways and there is so much for the actors to play with. This play absolutely needs to be part of a Festival, and I am sure it will be at least one of the audience’s favorites, if not the top choice. BRAVO!

  • Jack Levine: The Last Night

STEPHEN KAPLAN’s play touched my heart. It’s never easy to lose a loved one. We want to hold onto to the joy they gave us. Most especially, we yearn for another touch, another hug, another sound of their voice. So, if we have one last thing, such as an unopened present, we think of keeping it, as is, so our loved one, in a way, ‘stays alive’. “The Last Night” is an “Oh, my” play, which I completely loved reading.

  • Jack Levine: The Sign

JULIE ZAFFARANO beautifully addresses the unfortunate prejudices of some toward our brothers and sisters, who happen to have a different skin color. Black Lives Matter is an earnest plea for fairness, equality, and respect, which is long overdue. “The Sign” is more than some letters. It stands for what we all need to realize: we are all made in God’s image, each and everyone of us. BRAVO!
