  • Everlasting Chocolate Therapy
    29 Jan. 2021
“Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” was my favorite film as a child, so this play was tailor-made for my enjoyment. I wish I could come up with a sequel to a childhood favorite as deliciously funny, wise, and perfectly executed as “Everlasting Chocolate Therapy.”
  • Birdie and Cait and the Book of Life

A truly lovely exploration of queerness, spirituality, faith, and connection. The way Audrey Lang writes is stunningly poetic, and Lang has created some exquisite female characters with unique voices I loved every second of reading. I so hope to see it staged someday.
  • All We Know Is Not Enough

Powerful, inclusive, gorgeous magical realism that centers trans representation, refugee representation, and that great human desire for connection. It left me utterly speechless. More theatre like this, please.
  • VALERIE: A COSPLAY MONOLOGUE
    24 Jan. 2021
As a cosplayer who is vigilant about consent at conventions, this monologue hits home on so many important points and issues while also being a fantastic opportunity for an actor AND for a costume designer. Really great, powerful stuff.

Very funny and very spooky! This ten-minute effortlessly combines the dread of being haunted by vengeful spirits with the dread of working retail.
  • A Trip to the Forest
    24 Jan. 2021
In a change of pace, Clayton Bauldree substitutes the usual supernatural situations with a lovely character study that absolutely hits home if you ever felt lonely, out of place, or in over your head at any point in the college process. Riley and Sal’s friendship feels so real and relatable. I could definitely use a road trip with these two in real life!
  • How to Talk to Your Child About Satan
    23 Jan. 2021
I was instantly hooked by the title! And what follows is a twisted but delightful mother-daughter story. A truly memorable ten-minute that I’d love to see staged! Satanic worship has never been this charmingly written.

An urgent, chilling cry for police reform in this country. Absolutely heart-shattering and powerful on the page, I can only imagine how emotionally devastating performing this piece as an actor could be. Necessary work.
  • From H.P. Lovecraft's Desk (A Monologue)
    22 Jan. 2021
Clayton Bauldree has an excellent grasp on the hauntingly idiosyncratic way H.P. Lovecraft describes things in his famous cosmic horror prose. Combining this with some truly great opportunities for puppetry designers to tap into their eldritch urges makes this a blast of a monologue. Creepy fun that I’m glad I read in the middle of the night!
  • The Legend Of Snails
    22 Jan. 2021
Beginnings of a sweet romance gingerly unfold between a tour guide and the biologist she’s showing around Amsterdam. Just lovely. Plus, lots of facts about the courtship and mating habits of snails, so there’s even more to love.
