  • Maripat Allen: UNHEARD (10-minutes)

This beautiful piece starts out like a typical deathbed scene but quickly turns into something different and more. The device used is both funny and poignant and provides a message for us all, in the deepest, most heartfelt way. I have a feeling I’ll think back to this play the next time I have to say a final goodbye to a loved one.

What a thoroughly delightful play! Cahill explores gender roles, competition, and what holds a couple together and could drive them apart, through a game of HORSE between a husband and wife. Both are so likable and relatable you can’t help rooting for them and their marriage. The game of HORSE is fun and theatrical and the ending is satisfying and genuine. A real gem!.

  • Maripat Allen: The Backyard Stonehenge Chronicles

An original story showing about the intersection of a marital crisis and an age-related crisis. TJ wants to make up for screwing up his and his wife's chance to see Stonehenge by creating a miniature one in his backyard. Sweet idea, right? The only problem is, he steals the neighbors paving stones to do so. You can't help but love this hairbrained guy, as much as you want to shake sense into him. The neighbor is understandably furious, but does she really need to be that bitchy? Funny, complex characters creating a wonderful mix of emotions in the audience.

  • Maripat Allen: The Fall of Anne Boleyn; Presented as a Modern Day FaceTime Call

The historical events of this play, already fascinating, are made fresh in this modern retelling. Samantha manages to keep the tension high while providing plenty of humor. I worried about these characters at the same time as I laughed at their predicaments. This would be such an interesting, fun addition to any play festival. I'd also like to see a longer version. Bravo!

  • Maripat Allen: Moon Logic

I have the pleasure of directing this play for the upcoming Ludington Area Center for the Arts short play festival this May. The actors are having a blast, and keeping me and each other in stitches! This is a ton of fun and a sure crowd pleaser!

  • Maripat Allen: A Trick of Whiskey and the Night

What an incredibly beautiful g story! I was moved more by it than I have been by any war movie I've ever seen. It was selected for a play festival I'm helping produce, and I'm so glad it was. Many of us were moved to tears in the read through. I hope it gets the many more productions it deserves.

  • Maripat Allen: Riddle me This, that and the other

Rachel Feeny-Williams clever wit is on full display with this wonderful social satire. Through personifying questions, quotations and riddles Feey-Williams demonstrates how social media has shaped human thought. Love it!

  • Maripat Allen: Body Ready?

What a fun piece about a situation so many women will relate to! By personifying the different body parts of off-stage "host", Feeny-Williams illustrates the societal pressure that women feel over their bodies, and and the crazy lengths they will go to to try to fit the ideal. But Feeny-Williams also provides a sensible guideline for healthy coping in a humorous, easy to digest way. A great message for everyone, but especially young women, given in a highly entertaining way!

  • Maripat Allen: Shit Cake (one-hour play)

By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, this play looks at marriage and the dissatisfactions of middle age, when choices have narrowed and the stakes for changing course have become so high. Each character feels a void in their life and seeks to fill it with an affair. Could they be happier with that other person? If so, at what cost? Is the emptiness they feel real, or just the drudgery of every day life? These characters felt like friends who both infuriated me and broke my heart. However you feel about them you 'll be compelled by their joureny.
