I got the chance to see this play in Chicago, back in the day. How can you forgive a significant other for their betrayal if they're dead? Do pretend it never happened? do you let them and their betrayal consume you? How about when they're undead? Trust me, this is not just another zombie play. Definitely recommend!

This short play speaks to the need to find acceptance from within your family. Even those that aren't five-eighths wolf will understand how important it is to sing. Tanuja is an author to keep your eyes on

I saw this in Chicago at Strawdog a few years ago and was immediately struck by this play's command of language and willingness to go to uncomfortable places. Sometimes there isn't justice; sometimes it's just us. Highly recommend!

I saw this at the 42nd Humana Festival, and I must tell you that this play is blisteringly powerful. This isn't your typical docudrama. This is a play about how and why people emigrate to America; this is a play about how those in power use and abuse those they feel are invisible and discardable; this is a play about a playwright willing to put herself front and center alongside her friends, her fellow victims, and her insecurities. Highly recommend

Maybe you're like me and you've only heard whispers of the shady dealings that went down between the creators of Batman, the creators of Superman, and DC comics. All the more reason you should pick up this play. Even those that aren't into comic books will be taken by this story about artistic integrity, censorship, and loyalty.

How can we have large political conversations in an intimate, naturalistic space? This play proposes a few good answers to that question. These are real people onstage having real conversations about it means to be a black woman in today's America, and how all oppressed people have more self-worth than the false dichotomies that are foisted upon them.

A true heartbreaker. This play reflects on how lonely we can become in our travels, and how difficult it can be to connect when you're constantly just passing through. Highly recommend!

It's a modern adaptation of Three Sisters, but set in Brazil, with women in their 40s to 60s. What's more: these characters are empowered by, not beholden to, their Chekhovian predecessors. A beautiful look at how our families both support and entrap us, no matter how many years pass. And the dialogue is gorgeous to boot. Highly recommend!
  • PSYCHOPSYCHOTIC, or, everyone at yale is a goddamn sociopath !!!

This is American Psycho for the next generation. This play might be hard to watch, but that's only because it has to be. In a world where everyone's a nice guy and #notallmen have victims hiding in their closets, this play has the guts to say to men shut up and look at what women are really afraid of when you ask them to come home with them. To look away from this horror is to continue being part of the problem.

A staged reading of this play was part of the 2017 Chicago Theatre Marathon, and boy are we glad it was. The theme of that year's incubator was "I Am Indomitable," and this play and these characters definitely fit the bill! If you're at all interested in how theatres & Hollywood portray disability, do yourself a favor and try this play on for size.
