Yeeeesss! Love a good horror play! This is dark, twisted, and leaves you wondering what's going to happen next!

  • Scott Cantrell: Blizzard

I read this while listening to blizzard sounds and it pulled me right in. The stakes of the child causing the slight tension between the parents and ultimately leading to the decision in the end worked together beautifully and the pacing was very realistic for the short period of time. As the play went on, this comfortable and intimate feeling became a feeling of claustrophobia and I enjoyed every moment.

  • Scott Cantrell: The Raven

Such a hilarious take on the classic poem. With the original showcasing a man being driven into madness because of a raven, this take showcases a man being driven into madness because of the understudy for the raven. Would love to see a production of this.

  • Scott Cantrell: Five Bears - a very short play

Such a cute story that showcases many parts of a relationship compressed into a 'very short play', with an ending that is screaming to be staged, and I'm screaming alongside it.

  • Scott Cantrell: Buy The Book

A wonderful story that showcases the awkwardness that comes with purchasing personal items in a public place in a small town. These two cousins are realistic, and relatable. I'd love to see a production of this!

  • Scott Cantrell: Night Visits

This is a powerful and moving piece that showcases the stages of grief in a way that relates to the members of an audience who has lost a loved one. The wit is sharp and fun, and the dramatic moments hit you right in the feels. A beautiful play.

  • Scott Cantrell: Let Them Eat Cake (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

A beautiful dialogue with a gut wrenching plot twist ending. I absolutely adore these characters.

  • Scott Cantrell: Pinnacle Hill

This is a beautiful monologue showcasing the mental process of coming out for the first time to someone. I completely understand her emotions and could relate to her on a personal level. Really fantastic piece.

  • Scott Cantrell: Showers

Why do you have to do this to me? Well, when I woke up this morning, my heart was in one piece. Then, I read this play, and it has broken beyond into two pieces. I love how the couch onstage is the center for connection and once a character leaves the couch, the other feels only isolation. My heart went out to both of these characters, as I felt like I knew both of them in my life. The pacing is absolutely gorgeous, and this should be held as an example of what the ten-minute play should be.

I was thoroughly impressed with this short yet charming story. I found both of the characters to be just as important as the other, and their situations were both very well laid out, and relatable. This play showcases the beauty of love, and how you never know how much something, or someone, means to you... until they are gone.
