Sign me up for this play-- I adore it. A truly effective and scary play seems awfully lacking these days, and it is so nice to have so many trying their hands are evolving the genre to the stage. This play succeeds wildly, even by its mere existence on the page. It is simple, funny, and genuinely scary. Thank you for the use of the word, "Chittering," which sent chills down my spine. I want to see this baby produced!

This play is the epitome of a clever, cheeky, heartfelt, and droll good time. I love the riff on A Christmas Carol, and the tongue-in-cheek narrator. Lucy is a beautifully drawn character who really moved me, as someone who has struggled with her exact problem. The play is indeed sweet, but the underlying message hits very deeply, especially in the ways partnerships and supportive relationships are portrayed.

I love how this leaves you wanting MORE! A very effective set-up and a devilishly ambiguous ending.
  • A True Ghost Story

There is so much to love about this play! It is poignant, it is gothic, it is funny, it is full of beautiful dialogue and colorful characters, it has southern accents! I found it to be deeply compelling and thoroughly engrossing-- so much more than a simple ghost story. I can envision a gorgeous and rich set, a moody lighting design, an eerie soundscape, and ample roles for capable actors ready to tell an original story that truly lingers on. This is a play that must be staged!

There are so many layers to this play--it's amusing, sad, somber, spooky, and extremely clever. I love the lyrical dialogue and the way one of the characters deals with their fate. Its a very thoughtful, articulate and smart play that really grows on you with further exploration.

What a wonderful and sneaky little play this is. I absolutely love Jeri's running monologue of sorts--the role is an goldmine for an actress with the right chops (ahem, but I digress), and the ending leaves you breathless. I love the dynamic between the three characters, and I love how economical the two kidnappers are with their words, while Jeri is like a freight train of speech. And the complex morality questions also add to the sense of drama and the very high stakes of the work. What happens next??!!!!

This play ticks all the boxes for me- strong dialogue, compelling mystery, great character relationships, a wonderfully dark and eerie tone, good parts for female actresses, beautiful originality, and tons of opportunity for creative staging. Yup. I love it.

As an actor first and foremost, I absolutely love this creative short play. It's got such a wink-wink, nudge- nudge quality that it can't help but make you laugh and smile. The farcical nature would be so fun to explore as an actor, and I firmly believe we need more lighthearted and sly fare these days.
  • Waiting On Mom, Who Already Left

I love how supremely believable this whole scenario is: from the dialogue to the relationships, this piece reeks of truth. The layers of humanity, the humor, the tenderness, and the various means off coping we see are all just so nicely thought out and presented in a way that would mean a field day for talented actors.

This piece really touched me with its sensitivity and the powerful imagery it conveys. This is wonderful ensemble play, and has such an innocence to it, yet a depth. I'd love to see this staged--heck, I'd love to direct it!
