  • Morey Norkin: The Uninvited

I admire Chris Plumridge for being able to share such a highly personal story. I admire him for being able to take an ongoing struggle and turn it into an inspiring piece of theatre. I admire his fighting spirit and determination to evict the uninvited. And I admire him because, just as he always does with his writing, he will succeed.

  • Morey Norkin: The Reckless Romantic

Here I was enjoying what I believed to be a slightly off kilter comedy of manners, when WHAM! I had no idea where this was headed! The British stiff-upper-lip dialogue is a hoot given the nature of several unsuccessful marriage proposals. Jacquie Floyd-Priskorn’s interpretation of a painting that inspired her is perfection. And I’m sure any production would have to give props to the prop master! It’s time for this play to have a revival!

  • Morey Norkin: September in Biddeford

As others have said, “Oh my God!” It’s a cheesy Hallmark story. No, it’s a cheesy sci-fi horror story. It’s both! And the combination is hysterical! A perfect blend of cheesiness!

  • Morey Norkin: Today I will go to him.

Absolutely chilling! The pace actually made my heart beat faster! The steely determination of this character is frightening, but what fun for an actor lucky enough to play her. Another fantastic monologue from Chris Plumridge!

  • Morey Norkin: Family History

So many secrets! Who can you trust? You can trust Rachel Feeny-Williams to keep you guessing about what happened the night Michael and Sydney’s father died and so much more! Full of twists and red herrings, FAMILY HISTORY is a mystery/thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Perfectly crafted for stage or audio production. I hope it finds many opportunities for both!

  • Morey Norkin: The Convoy

A memory play with quite different memories. The basic facts are in agreement, but the perspectives, Mum as a young child and Grandma as a young mother, are different out of necessity. The urgency of the period captured in a black and white photo is palpable in Grandma’s recollection and even in Mum’s naive understanding. No doubt there’s more to this story if Lou Jones decides to explore it, but if not, it is beautifully written and makes quite an impact as is. Well done!

  • Morey Norkin: Splitting the Check (Ten Minute)

If there’s a lesson here, I think it’s that it’s good to make friends with your waiter. This is so clever and sneaky. I loved it!

  • Morey Norkin: Did you do the thing yet, Joe?

Is it a meme? Just a friendly reminder to complete some menial task? Or is it a haunting refrain that reverberates in your brain like a pesky ear worm repeating to the tintinabulation that so musically wells from the bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells!! Or is it just hysterical good fun? The unabashed name dropping! Pie for dinner! The sheer joy of watching a simple question go viral! Joe, the ball’s in your court. Don’t keep us waiting. Did you do the thing yet?

  • Morey Norkin: Mr Bennet's Bride

Pure delight! If you stumbled across a bound copy of this play, you would swear it was a 19th century gem. In reality it is a 21st century gem from Emma Wood filled with the wit and manners that make it an excellent prequel to “Pride and Prejudice.” And like that earlier work, I can see MR. BENNET’S BRIDE becoming a classic of on its own. This would be a treat to see on stage or even adapted for film.

  • Morey Norkin: Luck of the Draw

The centuries old practice of arranged marriages takes a shocking turn with government mandates. But even in this odd and horrifying scenario, Brenton Kniess manages to find humor, tenderness, and humanity. It remains to be seen whether these two strangers will ever fall in love. But it only takes ten minutes for audiences to fall in love with these characters.
