  • Jaxson Mackling: I Knew Him

This is the first I’ve of CATHRO’s plays, and might I say, “I Knew Him” was a treat!
The way the characters mellowed together, with crisp, clear dialogue. Oooo! Perfect! Bravo! I’d love to see it produced!

  • Jaxson Mackling: WHAT'S APP, DOC? (a 10 minute comedy)

As a grandson, I’ve been through this same exact situation before. Every time I visit my grandparents, I try and help my grandma, yet she doesn’t understand. Very frustrating!…
BUTLER does a fantastic job of mixing with new. A play we all need to enjoy! Bravo!

  • Jaxson Mackling: Incoming Male

One word: Wow. Karp and I are one in the same. Both having plays that bring LGBTQIA+ to light. As I’ve read other recommendations of “Incoming Male”, it is safe to say, they are not wrong. This is the first play I’ve read of KARP’s and let me tell you…he or “Incoming Male” don’t disappoint. This made me feel something…let me just say, high school was a BUST….I digress. I have found something to believe in. INCOMING MALE needs produced, and now. Directing it would be my dream.

  • Jaxson Mackling: Fucking Ice

COLE has done it once again, although Fucking Ice, is a bit deeper, darker. Twists, turns. A uncle, a woman, and two cousins. In the 5-10 minutes, that took me to read, I loved every minute of it. Bravo!

  • Jaxson Mackling: Let Them Eat Cake (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

Let me say this: COLE is a wonderful playwright and friend, and beginning to become my favorite! Her plays always make me feel warmth and fuzzy. Like a nice breeze, on a crisp summer morning, on the beach. This sweet romance between two “friends”, did not disappoint. Let Them Eat Cake will have you swooning in no time. Bravo! Perfect for competition.

  • Jaxson Mackling: Visitation

MARTINEAU is a great. This is the first play I have read and rec’d of his…and I surely will come back for more! What really stuck out to me is the fact that we don’t really know why Iris is in Prison; that’s the intriguing part. And MARTINEAU‘s writing style; O my god. The fact that he could take so much heart and cramp it into a 10 minute piece….
To say ‘Bravo’ would be an understatement.
The word ‘Visitation’ is only the beginning.

  • Jaxson Mackling: Family Visitation (Ten Minute)

Wow. Just wow. I mean…how could a woman just do something like that? DONNELLY does a fabulous job at taking characters justifications and twisting them into real life. Making it seem like you’re there with them…in the moment, instead of watching from afar! Bravo! I don’t always say this, but…I’d direct it.

  • Jaxson Mackling: Family Ties (from the THE WRINKLE RANCH AND OTHER PLAYS ABOUT GROWING OLD collection)

As I always say, “Deb, has done it again!”, but this time, might be a little different…however, it is all in good fun!

Family Ties imagines a sweet girl on wedding day, where the grandmother of the groom is somewhat on the wild side! If you are looking for a funny, yet gut wrenching piece about family relationships, this one is for you!

    Deb has done it again!

A very light and cute piece. Perfect for competition! MAN is someone who reminds of someone who loves his grandchildren, while WOMAN is seems young, yet poised and wise. Wise beyond her years, I’d say. I’d direct it! Bravo!
