I create in an attempt to express, if nothing else, one sliver of feeling—whether it be joy, sorrow, lust, rage—to a room of people desperate to see themselves reflected on the stage. Whether I am adapting a classic or creating my own piece, I hope that by the end of any work I do that you feel hopeful, gutted, and seen.
