  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Scary Larry

Tables are turned in this super short involving a ouija board and a couple of apparently bored monster-types. Fun!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: MY PARADISE ISLAND

Darkly funny, wildly improbable, and absurd, this short play hints at some old-fashioned, stylistics (oh, if only Cary Grant and Irene Dunn could step into the roles!). Loved learning the backstory through the "bonus scenes", too. A lot of fun!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: DANIEL PRILLAMAN REALLY LIKES KITTENS

I salute the absurdity of this play, just as I salute the joyful absurdity of the NPX universe folding over on itself. It's manifested here with NPX playwright, Daniel Prillaman, serving as NPX playwright, Steven G. Martin's, subject de jour. But the absurdity doesn't stop there. We also have the play's antagonist, the impossibly Edwardian neighbor with the improbable name of Mrs. Trewlawny Justice. And she has a wee little problem - one too many kittens. (As if!). Martin has taken a Kitchen Aid mixer to reality in this short play and baked up a souffle' of silliness. Fun :)

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Picnic on Squire Cheyney Farm Park

An authentic-feeling moment in the lives of a parent and child struggling through grief and lost connection. Zaffarano does a good job of providing the landscape for this short, too.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: B-Sides

A cute and clever premise sets the stage for these three characters who each have plenty of personality and cheeky one-liners. What a fun play to cast and costume. I really enjoyed the originality of this short!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: SEEN

Escaping a real life horror house is all fun and games until it's not! This 10 minute play is a fun treatment and twist on escape rooms and Halloween haunted houses. Radtke is great at crafting funny, situational dialogue, and this fast-paced short doesn't disappoint. Solid choice for any 10 minute festival!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Hard to Get

A chess game of who's in charge and who's on top and when. This one-act continually kept me guessing about where the relationship between these two was going. Subtext upon subtext underlies a complicated, tense interaction even though the dialogue is seemingly casual. Truly an actor's delight.

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Bite (a monologue)

Lawing had me at Jack the Ripper’s teeth. This cheeky, creepy monologue is so much dark fun. I would love to be on the receiving end at an audition. Or better yet, in a full production! Loved it!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Fire and Bread

Cheese! Cheese! Cheese! Ridiculous and absurd and I loved it all. Full of anachronisms that bump up against overly-wrought, Dark Ages speak, the play pings on both social commentary and just straight up comedy. Favorite line: "My job was to look after the sheep, but now the sheep are also aflame, so no more work for me." This is a really fun play!

  • Kelly McBurnette-Andronicos: Chapter Envy

A 10 minute, two-hander with ample, Lucy and Desi-esque physical humor that's so much fun to read. I especially enjoyed the action taking place in the stage directions and even appreciated knowing the genre of the book the couple is reading. A clever way to provide some illuminating character insight. I bet this is a hoot to see performed!
