  • Catherine Weingarten: Lies

Wow! What an exciting and dramatic and freaky ride Slaff takes us on. Both characters are flawed yet likable yet hot messes and I love loved figuring out who they thought they were vs who they actually were. This fast moving psychological thriller of a story is chock full of great surprises and moments of reckoning.

  • Catherine Weingarten: Dr. Rees Ziti's Pageant for a Better Future

This play is fricking wild, funny and alive! Lauren depicts the desperation of the beauty pageant contestants so well and it couples so interestingly with her funky futuristic themes. I saw this at Ant Fest and was blown away by how funny, innovative and exciting this piece is.

  • Catherine Weingarten: Monica: This Play Is Not About Monica Lewinsky

I was moved by the elegance and sparseness of this piece. The piece oozes sadness and also the angst of being a woman in a society that wants to put you on a pedestal or objectify you. My fave scene is after she hooks up for the first time and the guy asks her for feedback and he's so mansplainy-lol very relateable yet Nora made the scene heartbreaking as well.

  • Catherine Weingarten: Nothing Remained But Voice And Bones

This play is an honest and alarming piece about the pressure women face to look a certain way and strive after "beauty". The language feels so natural and real and the pain of the characters pulsates off the pain. This play is gorgeously written and true yet also an amazing call to action and a story that could set many of us free.

  • Catherine Weingarten: The Kingdom of Ghosts

In this fantastical, dreamy and emotionally rich piece, Darcy takes us on a journey of finding love, grappling with grief and finding family. The piece is ambitious and queer and joyful and is just what the american theater needs!!

  • Catherine Weingarten: Breeches Role

A fun, gorgeously crafted, contemplative monologue about figuring our your body and gender and world. The language feels so crisp and i think this could be a really fun audition piece!

  • Catherine Weingarten: Polterguys

A fun, zippy horror friendly romp about love anddd zombies. This play is perfect for Halloween and has a trashy, great blockbuster-esque feel to it that's rarely seen in the theater.

  • Catherine Weingarten: The Newlywed Game

Hilarious, sweet, supa fun. A story that puts people on stage you don't normally see and is also a really fun ride. Alyssa is a young up and comer and the play oozes with thoughtfulness and deep ideas about family and trying to compromise. Love it!!

  • Catherine Weingarten: A Stitch Here or There: A Sock Tragedy in One Act

A heartwarming and theatrical little sock puppet play that explores adult issues like loneliness and suicide in a thoughtful way. It would be a fun standout in a short play fest!

  • Catherine Weingarten: Black Hollow

Aeneas's play "Black Hollow" is sweet and haunting in all the best ways. It takes the scary and relevant topic of gun control, and explores it in a very human and fascinating way. The play is a call to action but at the same time the piece stands on it's own as gorgeous literature and a juicy and emotionally deep play for a big group of actors to sink their teeth in.
