  • James Binz: Storm of the Century

Very impressive! A truly amazing two handed pot boiler! I can't wait to see it at PNWF this year. The story line is strong and the characters are unique and well developed. Flapjacks and Flatworms! And when the roof caves in - flat everything! Nice!

  • James Binz: First Miss - Full Length, University Edition (Undergoing Revisions)

This felt like a bunch of rom com movie scenes shuffled up and poured out into a teen angst movie. Sarah Schreck creates a story line that feels familiar and yet always surprises. These characters act with trueness and the dialogue is very Nora Ephron. I feel a little bad for my high school prom date - this all seemed so deja vu. I can't wait to see this performed at PNWF in a few months. Brava!

  • James Binz: The Ice Cream Sandwich Incident

I wanted to read this before seeing it at the PNWF. This is such a good and strong story line. The characters are well drawn and the many conflicts are true to life. There is ominous menace and bizarre events to slowly reveal all the character flaws and traits. So many powerful moments because one person ate the ice cream sandwiches. Who'd a thunk it?

  • James Binz: They Said/They Said

Wow. The tension was so well drawn. A mother protecting her twins, administrators covering their behinds and father trying to keep the conflict to a minimum. The last line was a heartbreaker. I can't wait to see this at the PNWF. Terrific stuff!

  • James Binz: ONE OLD LADY SITTING ON A BENCH (a 10 minute play)

Maintaining the character conceit is always a challenge when the character is filled with subtext and memory. O'Neill-Butler handles it with charm and ease. I loved these characters and I always love a good "Zoo Story" setting. A yummy treat that leaves a taste in your mind long after you finish. Brava.

  • James Binz: 0% Chance of Visibility (a 10 minute musical comedy) by Marj O'Neill-Butler and Arianna Rose

Well now that was certainly fun. Unexpected, too! What to do when a life well and long lived becomes dull and listless? Elena knows!! Lots of fun for two actresses - I think I would really enjoy seeing this one.

  • James Binz: TEARJERKER

Every now and then, a piece like this comes along and we think "I wish I had thought of that!" Aly Kantor hits all the right notes in this ten minute slice of super hero life and makes us wonder if we, too, would have the same issue that Nicky has. Would we end up feeling and living the same way? Some good smiles and some good fodder for deeper thought. Nice

  • James Binz: Strangers Off a Train

Charming and funny. Samara Siskind has a real talent for expressing stories that touch and draw audiences in. This is a very lovely piece with a message and a moral. The final scene is a surprise, but an honest one! Brava! Well written and well done.

  • James Binz: The Grandparents Are Alright

Wow. What a terrific concept! The dialogue was sharp - you really must have that app! Lots of funny moments and a big happy after moment. This was a joy to read and I would love to see it performed on the small stage.

  • James Binz: Put Your Hands on Me, Brett

Nicely done. Date night fantasy night is so tricky to get right for many couples. Samara Siskind hits the dilemma on the head and shows us a humorous and perfect take on the challenge. Crackling cool dialogue and wonderful characters - the story rolls along with a few twists and turns and we get where we all want to go from the beginning. Brava!
